    Default New Purchase

I sold my 82GL 5.0 to another member on here because I couldn't pass up buying an 89 Saleen Coupe. It is Bright Red with tan interior. I hear that Bright Red is a little unusual. The car does need work from sitting and cleaned up good.20 coupes were made in 89.This is my 5th Saleen and second Saleen Coupe. I already own a 1990.Believe me I never thought I would own 5 very rare Saleen Mustangs. Hopefully someday it will pay off financially and that will just be icing on the cake.

To say that car is beautiful would be an understatement. I love the gold accents and it having tan interior is just awesome (I have sand beige in my car, so I am a bit bias)! Congrats on another wicked Mustang!

Please post more pics when you get the time, I'd love to see that interior and engine bay.
    Cheers!

Here are a few pictures if the blue Saleen notch that my friend used to own and some info he provided. This Saleen was #91-011, 1 of 1. It was the only blue notch ever made and 1st available to the public in '91. 1-10 were promo cars for Eagle1 and other companies as giveaway cars.

This pic was at Island dragway summer of '91:

This was mid 90's at perf auto sport in Richmond Va:

And here is is current tribute car, it's an 89 notch with a built 2.3T:

    Default Saleen Notch

They are my pictures I took when I went to buy it in 1999. The car has been wrecked since then. It is amazing how many of my pictures are out there that people claim as there own and have been used by others in books etc and they take credit for them. Not mad at you for posting them but it is funny how the internet allows that to happen..I also sent them to your friend a few years ago. Rumor has it that the car has been off the road for a long time.It is not in PA anymore.

That is beautiful! Does it have those awesome flow-fit seats with the netted halos? If so, got any pics?

A white saleen with blue graphics is my ultimate mustang. I am very jealous.

Yes it has the fllofit seats. This was my dream car back in 1991.I want to put Black Recaro seats in it because the originals are gray and don't match the black interior.I have the fronts but can't find a nice rear seat.

Are you talking about the Mustang Recaros with the zig zag design or plain black Recaros?

I bought Recaros that are the same style as the 92-93 Saleens. They have the same outer fabric but the inner fabric is different. My plan was to keep the flofits which I don't like and put the Recaro seats in which are a lot nicer and they make the interior all black.

Well after working on my new purchase just about everyday now since spring, I thought I was about done. I had the car back together.I knew the car had some minor front end damage. A former coworker came over and advised me that to fix it properly I should pull the engine. So over the past week I pulled the engine and trans. Then pressure washed the engine compartment and removed almost everything. I was trying not to take the interior apart again. Anyway I took it to get repaired today. The nice thing is it will give me a break. The bad is I knew I should have done this first but I didn't listen to myself.
