I had today off, got some stuff done. Installed the interior dew wipes and black door panels that I got from a U-Pull-it. I had to trim the rear of the door panels a bit to clear the weatherstrip. My door moldings came in the mail, so I removed the double side tape residue and metal strips, sanded, cleaned, and painted them. I ran out or double sided tape, so I will have to install them tomorrow.
I added a 12" pusher fan in front of my radiator, will be on when the key is in the "run" position. The motor was getting a little hot the last couple times I had it out. I had just a 16" fan with a 185 degree thermal switch before. Lastly I removed my stock steering wheel. I got a Grant wheel from the same U-pull-it as the door panels. It has what looks like white leather, I'm going to paint it grey, we'll see how long the interior paint holds up.

Wow, the car looks amazing! As much as I try I can't get behind that rear wing, but it certainly makes a statement. The color combo you went with is great, and I love the hood and front air dam. Great job, I can't wait to see the interior.
Cheers!

Thanks guys.
The interior is going to take a while. It was grey but then I got those nice black door panels. I am thinking of changing it up to more of a two-tone black grey look. Right now I am just happy to have door panels on. I was thinking about a set of these too;

Cleaned up the trunk a bit. Trimmed some trunk trim panels I had kept from a '92 mustang coupe I had years back and installed them. I took one of the pieces I cut off and held a heat gun on high three inches away for about five minutes. The trim panels did not scorch of burn, just get soft and melted. I have done a couple half hour long drives without any issues.
I put a tool box in the trunk, zip tied it in place so it does not get to close to the hot pipes. I also did a lot to seal off any leaks of exhaust into the passenger compartment.

Not related to my '79, but still mustang related.
Washed my big block mustang this afternoon. I cut my cowl hood to fit closer to the carbs. Yes the color is off, I picked the wrong color when I had my guy paint it, guess I should have had him pick the color. The predators look good, but I am having some difficulty getting the car to run good. It will get there eventually, installing my wideband O2 should help.

I have not tried it on anyone else's wife, and I don't plan to. Can't take the risk that it might work.
My wife just rolls her eyes at my foolishness, LOL. She tolerates my "car crap" because she knows it helps keep me happy, and as long as I have a fast mustang or two I won't be inclined to get another bike.

Started redoing my stereo system a bit. I had really old Pioneer 6 x 9"s on the rear deck, Kicker 3 1/2"s in the dash, and 5 1/4"s in the kick panels. I did not feel that there was enough sound up front, the 5 1/4"s and 3 1/2"s were hooked up in parallel, that probably did not help much.
Anyway I have been intrigued by the idea of adding a woofer to the center hole in the dash, to add some mid/bass up front. My plan is to put a 5 x 7" in the center of each dash front and back, and run them off of the subwoofer output on my head unit. The 3 1/2"s will be replaced with JBL tweeters. Paired up with 5 1/4" woofers in the kick panels. 5 x 7"s are also JBLs.
I made a couple quicky aluminum brackets to mount the tweeters.
And another bracket to hold the passive crossovers for the front speakers. This goes under where the glove box is. It uses the dash suppost bolt to hold it in place.
Rear three way 6 x 9"s are JBLs. They have a nifty switch in between the tweeters so you can lower the frequency of the tweeters a bit quickly if you like.
I have everything but the 5 x 7"s installed. They are going to be a bit more work. I will have to massage the dash a bit to make the 5 x 7" fit, and in order to get the sound I want I will most likely need to make an enclosure too.

I forgot to mention the results of my speaker redo. It sounds nice and clean, but did not get me the lower tones I was hoping to get. I couldn't get a box in the dash, so I just added a bunch of sound deadener(Fat Max, Dyno mat type stuff) to reduce any rattles in the factory plastic that makes the dash. In the rear dash I did make a box for the 5 x 7", but was limited in space(internal volume), so it's effectiveness was reduced.
Anyway, on to the good stuff. I have been collecting some goodies for the car this winter. I got a nice set of used H&R 'race' springs(with poly isolaters), a set of 99-04 mustang front control arms with poly bushings and Steeda's X2 ball joints. 31 spline Mark VII length Moser axles, and a set of 2.73 gears. I still want to get a rear end girdle/cover, and a carbon fiber clutch kit for the 31 spline Trac-loc I have.
I will be widening the fenders by about 1 1/2". Exact amount to be determined after the suspension stuff is bolted on. I have a good idea on how I want to go about doing the fender/quarter panel mods. I have a less than perfect fender to practice on.
And finally this little gem. "Say hello to my little friend!"
It's a factory blower from a 2007-2012 Shelby Cobra.
Hum, somethings are going to have to move.
I have some ideas on which way to go about getting or making a manifold to mount the blower on. Keeping everything under the Pace Car scoop will be a challenge. It should be fun though.
The car will remain turbocharged as well. I'm not expecting much boost lag.

different best of both world, T-top and being notch, but what with the wing ? does it came like that ? anyway its your car, I respect your opinion

The car did not come with the t-tops either, so adding the wing... Well either you like it or you don't. I do.

Boosted boost. You're nuts ! Can't wait to see how it works out!
1985 Mercury Marquis LTS... "The Unicorn"
1978 Fairmont... 306 and a C4.
This man gets it.
Google compound boosting. The blower added power down low and helps spool up the turbo to take over in mid to higher RPM's. The turbo increases the efficiency of the blower. End result a large, a flat power curve, with copious amounts of torque, and smiles ear to ear. Or blow head gaskets, and water and engine parts in my oil pan.
A quick bit of info.
http://www.hellionpowersystems.com/i...boost-resource
Q: What are the Real Benefits of the Compound Boost Setup?
A: The real world benefit of a compound boost setup is average power and driveability. With the compound setup, you can still have the instant boost and low-end grunt of a supercharger, but the addition of the turbochargers will allow for a much more efficient and powerful top-end. This is referred to as "power under the curve." The average amount of power that we are able to produce with the compound systems will provide better driveability while still producing hair-raising amounts of power. Here's a quick example of how to think about it:
Let's say that we have a car that makes 1,000 hp peak, but only makes 500 - 1,000 hp for around 3,000 rpm. Now, we have another car that makes 900 hp peak, but makes 500-900 hp for 5,000 rpm. If we use a linear progression of power to calculate the average power through 5,000 RPM, the second car in question would have an average power output of about 700 hp through 5,000 rpm, whereas the first car mentioned would only have an average output of about 550 - 600 hp through 5,000 rpm. Using this equation, the first car in question has a higher peak power output, however the second car will most likely out-accelerate it due to the fact that it makes more average power over the same RPM range.

Got some more parts. After a bit reading on this here internet I found that swapping a Eaton m122 in place of a m112 on the '03-04 Cobras is reasonably common. They use an adapter plate to bolt the m122 down and swap the snout from the stock blower onto the larger m122. So, I bought a m112 blower for its snout. The length should work out good.
'03-04 m112 blower on top, '07-12 shelby m122 on bottom
There is a difference in the bolt pattern on the bottom of the snout. But people who swap these onto their Cobras don't seem to have problems. Probably due to belt tension applying most of its force to the top of the blower. I guess I'll see how it goes.
Lastly I will be swapping the distributor out for a EDIS set-up. Fortunately I am using a Megasqurt and already had some of the required bit to make the swap happen. I should have most everything needed to get it done. This will allow me to drop the blower down a bunch, hopefully keeping it all under the hood. I may even explore the possibility of a air to water intercooler, depending on how much space I end up with.
Biggest thing I need now is some warmer weather.
