Thanks guys, I will try to squirrel away some money. How far of a ride is it? Actually, how far from Mustangs Unlimited (that's about 2.5 hours from my house without stopping)? I'm figuring $200.00 for gas each way, plus a hotel for one or two nights, plus fun money. I know it would be worth it! I haven't been posting in the previous year's threads 'cause I knew how hard it was to squirrel away the money and I didn't want to disappoint myself. My side jobs have been coming in quite a bit recently. I hope they continue so I can save!
Oh Jeff, thanks for the above post!

Pete it is all about "when" you leave to go.
No traffic from my home is under 4hrs.
I would guess your looking at 5hrs, but Ken would know that answer best.
Might be cheaper to have your car transported there LOL

That sounds good. I'd definitely be going when there's no traffic. I HATE traffic!

From my experiences the last four years, the best time is to be on the road from RI by 5 am and I stopped once or twice for a few minutes and was there by 8:30 am. Definitely the easiest route because I've left at 9:00 pm a couple years ago and hit nightwork in NY over the Throggs Neck Bridge. I am definitely going to leave early morning on both trips. I may just leave first thing Monday morning at 4 or 5 am. I don't want to miss the show on Sunday and am always tired driving back after the show.

When we left last year Friday at 8pm we made it to the hotel in 3.5hrs, no traffic that time Paul, must be hit or miss, never know with LI lol
There are quite a few hotels on the list. I have never been out that way, does anyone have a suggestion on a hotel?

I stayed at the Hilton Homewood Suites the last two years and it's just awesome! It looks like the price came down a bit from last year. They have a huge breakfast buffet with good quality food as well. It makes it really convenient, especially since going out to eat is expensive on LI, plus great parking and even better if you trailer the car there. That's where I'll be booking this year as well and it's a real nice place inside too. The first two years at the Hilton right next door were nightmares.

Last year Kate and I stayed at Days Inn. It was affordable, and served it's purpose fine. (we were only there about 8 hours) Parking lot is fine if you drive your car, but getting a truck and trailer parked would be a problem. For this reason we are probably going with the Hilton Homewood Suites that Paul mentioned.
If you go with Days Inn, Ask Jeff how to get the free car shower.

You ass, LOL
Yeah we stayed there 2 yrs now, its just a Days Inn, no thrills but if you are just looking to crash after a fun day, it served it's purpose for us just fine and was clean and also cheaper, which is where I will end up again this year as well.
For the 2 night stay it was a $100 cheaper than staying at the Hilton unless you choose a non refundable room which I would rather have the option to cancel if bad weather were to arise.
For reference:
For 2 nights w/ a King Bed with Taxes and option to cancel on the 18th by 4pm
Hilton = $377.31 USD
Hilton = $404.10 USD for bed and breakfast
Days Inn = $279.30 USD
Maybe you have some discounts that could help more as well AAA, etc.
Can't wait!
Hey Jeff if I stay at the Days Inn, how would I get the Free Car Shower?

I know Jeff swears by the Days Inn but also look at the Holiday Inn Express. I think it's Round Swamp Road rt off the LIE. Me personally not a fan of that Days Inn mainly due to heavy traffic and congestion in and around the Hicksville area.
I'm probably going to book the non refundable room so it will be paid for well before July. Then I'll just have to come up with money for fuel and tolls

No problem at all. Hoping more people stay in one place as it's fun to hang out at the end of the day as well.
Nice! I just think the convenience of the location, parking lot, and good food does it for me lol. Glad you will be staying here as well. I'm going to book it this week.
Glad you both will be making the Bellmore cruise as well. Love both of the cars. You don't see many nice TC's like his either.

Do these rates include a Escort service? I guess I'll book a room at my parents and have mom make me my favorite homemade meal. I'll take part in the rent-a-4eye program.
