Default Need help with a 2000 Mercury Sable

I just bought a 2000 Mercury Sable LS Premium. It is fully loaded with the adjustable pedals. The gas pedal seems to be stuck to the floor. It moves along with the brake pedal when I adjust it but it doesn't seem to have any cushion or spring to it. I have to press on it really hard to get it to accelerate. It’s like it is stuck on the floor. Any suggestions?

sounds to me like you might have a burr or abraded throttle cable. It would cause the symptoms you describe. I'd replace it and see if that fixes it.
