A friend of mine has a 98 Taurus that has no heat at all. He already replaced the thermostat. Any other idea?
Thanks

The temp sets about halfway maybe a little less. All the metal tubes and hoses seem fine. I looked around the floorboard for wet spots, but its all dry.
its probably plugged.

Remove both hoses from heater core and back flush it
I have a friend that has to back flush the heater core on his 99 Taurus every couple of years. You will be surprised how much crap comes out of the heater core.

Ugh I changed the heater core in the wife's 2000 Taurus and it was big pain. I would also check to make sure the blend door is operating correctly.
my guess is mice plugged the flapper door that changes the sir from outside air to pushing air through the heater core.
seems the most common problem is the blend door. Ill get him to try that first anyway, Thanks for all the resonse
Are both hoses to the heater core hot when engine is warmed up?
they are both hot
there is a blend door that warps in the heater plenum and wont blow hot.
