Default 1982 black magic found and being saved

found this one on CL the other day. Made the guy an offer and brought it home. I'm hoping to save it. It needs a lot of work, but i think its salvageable.

finally got it in the garage 2 days later. Floor pans need replaced. Rust in the cowl and rust along the back edge where the roof line ends. More pics coming.

Damn, wonder what happened to the hood. Weird places for rust.

Congrats on a nice looking project and saving one!

I thought so too. Never seen one rust like that. Already on the lookout for a new hood. I'm not even going to bother trying to fix that one.

What a great find! There's just something about the flared fenders (mudguards) on the Capri's that sets them apart. Here's to another Black Magic getting back on the road!

Well i have done quite a bit to the car. I bought a complete cowl section and cut the old one completely out. The new inner section has been installed and the outer will be welded in place tomorrow. I also bought a drivers door since the old one is rusted out at the bottom. The next project will the the floor. The guy i bought the cowl and door from has a mustang parts business. He will be cutting up another mustang soon and will sell me a complete, rust free floor for $200. So whenever he gets around to cutting that car, the floor will be next. In the mean time, I will be sanding and doing body work to get it ready for paint. I will continue to post pics at the link above. Cheers.

I thought you could buy brand new floorpans for $200? I was too lazy to go look, just what I thought.
That car doesn't look too bad. It can certainly be fixed.

    Congrats and good luck!

    Congrats on the Capri!

I am so envious it seems everyone has a 82 Black Magic with T-tops! Except me!

I really need to find me one!

    Good luck with the repairs!

Not everyone. I'm kind of happy my 81 has a sunroof. It's going to need all the support it can get with the 400 in it.
