Default Aftermarket 79 pace car hood

Does anyone know who makes an aftermarket 79 pace car hood? I would even be happy with just the hood scoop.

    Thanks in advance.

No one makes a reproduction, you will have to find a used one in our classified
section here, or on eBay. A member here is parting out a Pace Car,,,,

If you have a regular Mustang and just want a Pace Car style hood, this company makes
a fiberglass hood with a 2" cowl that looks "similar" to the Pace Car hood.

I sold the pace car scoop, but I have a friend that does alot of aftermarket repro parts, and would be happy to make a run of these.

PaceFeever79: I've seen the seen those types but was looking for one that is almost identical to the pc one. I have even checked on eBay and there are two of them currently for sale. One is new and listed for $1,495. The other is used and it's currently selling for $100 but the guy won't ship to Italy. No problem, as I need it to be shipped to my address in the states. Tried to contact the guy to see if he would accept my bid and have it shipped within the USA. Have not heard back and there's only two hours left to go on the auction.

usmcgunner: Wish I had seen your post. Would have loved to buy that from you. It owuld be great if your friend could make a run of these. I think it's one the best looking hood scoops Ford has ever installed on a Mustang.

Another question for all of you in the know. Will these scoops work on an 85 hood?

I think maier racing makes an identical hood. I have the scoop and the pace car fender extensions and I wanted to have duplicates made of both of them so they're not unobtanium and anyone on the forum can buy the scoop alot cheaper than the 1500. one on ebay.

I'm in afghanistan so I'm delayed on getting this done but I definitely want to.

    I'll try Maier Racing.

Are you restoring a Pace Car?

If so, I'd keep searching for the original parts.

They are not that hard to come by.

No, pace car restoration. I have an 85 that needs to be redone and I wnat to do something different. I love the pace car hood scoop and think it would look great on an 85.
