Default Looking for advice: Capri RS Scoop on 84 RS Turbo

    Hi,

    Looking for ideas/examples/advice here:

Anyone have pictures of a RS 'bulge' scoop on a Charcoal Capri? I know it isn't stock for my 84 RS Turbo, but I've wanted a bulge scoop since I was kid.

If I go that route, how does it look flat black vs. Charcoal vs ???

    Thanks,

    Chris

I don't have pictures to help you out with a charcoal RS .

Here are a couple that I do have. These are not my cars! Some of these are member's cars IIRC, others are just ones I have found on the net.

Essentially if you want the scoop to stand out, paint it black or a contrasting color to the body.

If you want it more subtle, paint it body color and maybe paint the vents black for a bit of detail.

Thanks Trey. I love how that all-black Capri looks. The black on green is nice too.

May have to ask my photoshop-expert friends to play some games for me ...

I am not a fan of the bulge. however I think the more discreet 82 GT style scoop would look outstanding!!!

Every bulge should be burned... (sorry Trey, and Jeff)

Now it's on! Like Donkey Kong!

I will agree with your second statement! Well, except for the red part!

IMO, there is no other body mod you can do to a Capri to toughen up it's looks than to put a buldge on it.

    Here's some pics of mine:

'86 Capri 5.0, black with charcoal interior, 5 spd, fully restored, mildly modded.

'86 Capri 5.0, white with black interior, C4, rotisserie restored, heavily modded.

I added mine to my 84 and love it. I really wanted body color, but i'm happy with the black.

Nothing screams capri like the bulge hood scoop.

I think the bulge hood scoop looks better than the other hood scoops. If I could find one at a reasonable price, I'd own one. I "settled" for the forward facing scoop.

The answer is simple, If it's a Capri, the bulge scoop will look good on it.

I think Ed just suffers from Bulge Envy

hahaha ... he's probably looked longer than some of us, and decided he will just hate the bulge because he can't find one at a good price
