Looking good. Impressive work, with that section replacement on the left rear! That primer sure is white. I thought for a moment that you'd gotten a wild hair, and decided to paint her white.

Do you know what the factory paint code is for your car? Is it 2H?
Mine says 2H, and its color was very similar to the code 24 Medium red which came on '82 GTs. Under the hood and in the door jambs, mine looks to be exactly the same color as my '82 GT's jambs and engine bay were.

But like I said, when I went to the McParts store, and bought a couple of spray bombs of 2H red, it didn't match at all. It looked more scarlet. I did the top of my driver side fender, and then decided to go with white, so I could be like Vanilla Ice...

Here's a not very good pic of the various colors:

Thanks! First time me and a buddy have ever welded on a car. Not perfect, trim will hide the seam.
My factory color is Scarlet Red 2D, 2H is Cabernet (darker) Red. I like your GT. I'd like my next Fox Mustang to be a GT hatch with sunroof.

Top is on! The middle listings are a tad off and I do have a few wrinkles....but I did it! Have to let it stretch out, might have to undo and re-glue the listings to meet the bars. Then last is the bead with chrome tips above the window.

The hardest part was the side flaps. And it was a good thing I had that Chilton guide. It was the only reference I could find to put the new pads on with. The video I have was great but no instructions on pad replacement.

Thought better of it and redid the trunk lid. I'll just re-rivet the sticks back on after it's painted.

Top looks good. I need to do mine. Is the rear window glass, or plastic? I'm pretty sure mine is glass. I will probably switch over to a black top when I do get a new one.

Thanks. It's a glass window. The kit did have a plastic one, but glass looks so much better. It had a white top from the factory, changed to black in 2003.

Thanks! Motivation comes from not having a garage and a St. Louis winter coming soon......60, sunny, next day 20 and snowing.....LOL
Good thing is all the body work is done so she can be covered and wait till March to paint. Full tank of gas with Sta-Bil. Start her up once a week, drive around the block.
During winter I'll work on the stuff I took off inside. Seats, trim, mirrors.

Man I can't believe you've done so much, awesome. This car is looking really great and will surely be sharp when completed!! I've never seen a hobbyist do a top all by himself kudos! That's a really big and exacting task to do, but, it looks like you're pretty handy around the toolbox. I love this body style can't wait to see the paint! Thanks for posting all of the updates.

Small update....while looking through a parts box I forgot I had this arm rest delete panel (I got it for free!). Should make the interior have a cleaner look and it's broken anyway.

An armrest delete would be cool. Those armrests are always broken like the ashtray covers are always broken.

    Four eye consoles are better.

Isn't the armrest delete a fairly rare option?

I had my console out of my LX convertible for a short time while doing some repairs to it and really missed not having a place to rest my arm. As my daily driver I like have it and another place to store stuff out of site.

Thanks Craig. I see things I could have done better, but most were a first time job. I'll do better when I rebuild it again someday....LOL

It seems most came with the arm rest. I think LMR does have a re-pop.
