I paid $1100 for my rust-free V8 boxtop in 2007 from Southern IL...had to drive there to tow it back to Minnesota with my F150, and spent a night at a hotel, along with food for my brother and myself. I would have paid more if it had low miles and perfect paint job.

I was given my car and it came completely stock, with a lot of surface rust and a couple areas that still need patched. I don't mind body work, I actually find it relaxing after work, but after fixing the rust and repainting it I'll have at least a grand in the body plus untold time of working on it. If I buy another one I would be willing to put $2000 to $3000 into a car that is truly rust free. You just have to remember that these cars are all at least 30 years old and are getting more popular as the price of fox body mustangs goes up.

Those are some nice looking Fairmonts, and I don't think the prices of all of those are too bad. Personally I wouldn't pay more than $3K for a perfect, low mileage example, but that's just me. I'm not sure what the future holds as far as the collictibility of these cars, but I really like them. I would love to find a clean bench seat four speed to leave stock (except the wheels) and daily drive.
    Cheers!

I paid $1900.00 for my factory 302 boxtop. I was prepared to pay at most $2500.00 for a V8 car but at that price it would have had to been absolutely perfect inside and out. Mine's not perfect by any means but its exactly what I wanted.

A bit off the F/Z topic, but that Granada with the 302 and stick is pretty awesome! I had no idea those things were available with manual transmissions. Those were different days...

As for the F/Z pricing, I've noticed a disparity between sites like this and Corral vs. what I see through Craigslist. Here in the Mid Atlantic it seems most of the CL sellers are just selling a 30yo car, and that's how they price it. They're not asking top dollar because it's a "super sleeper project, same platform as Mustang" prospective drag car. Ebay seems to be a mix, with some prices down low and some folks asking ridiculous numbers.

I sold my 4 door in the spring for $6000. Which considering what it had done to it was a deal. An all stock car for that kind of money is steep but as the supply of these cars start to dry up the price is bound to rise for clean examples.

My Marquis wagon was $3000.00 by the time I purchased and shipped it, and well worth every penny! I bought from Brien on here and
so happy that it is a rust free , original condition car..by far the best car I have purchased..and paying that was well worth no Name: CAM00094.jpg

At least it certainly seems to be an ES (really need an interior pic to know) and has a factory V8. That counts for something. I wouldn't pay that for a beige 4 door.

This one made me chuckle. The guy is asking $1500 for it - not the $5000 that this thread is about, but I thought the "Zephyr premium" (bolded below) was pretty funny. (No offense to the Zephyr owners! )

The Zephmont in the pictures doesnt have an engine in it. The pic of the speedometer looks like it was laying in the trunk from the reflection. If the trailer is included it may be worth the money.

Is that "strawberry metallic" or vaquero? Was there a "strawberry metallic?" That baby looks like it was driven pretty hard, not sure I would gamble on this one. I find it kinda funny that the seller goes to great lengths to tell us his car isn't a Fairmont, but if you look at the title of his ad he says it's "like a Fairmont." lol

You think your prices are bad? Try buying one of these in Quebec. I remember a dealer had a dark blue Zephyr around my house for 5000$. It's not there anymore so either it was bought or scrapped. Check these two:

This one I think, is a bit too optimistic. Maybe the price has one or two extra zeros or he forgot the decimal point.
