    Default ASC GURU QUESTIONS ?

    IN 1986 THE 302 WAS A MULLET WHICH HAD TERRIBLE HEADS AND ACCORDING TO SOME HAD AND DID NOT HAVE FORGED PISTONS AND DID OR DID NOT HAVE VALVE NOTCHES IN THE PISTONS. AND WE WERE TOLD NOT TO CAM THESE ENGINES BUT PEOPLE LIKE VINNYTBIRD HAVE RUN E CAMS WHICH IS JUST A TOUCH LESS DURATION AT FIDDEE THAN A B CAM. SO DID THE SUNROOF COMPANY CHANGE PISTONS IN THESE APPS (NOT) OR DO ALL 86 ENGINES HAVE ENOUGH ROOM TO RUN BOTH E AND B CAMS NO MATTER WHAT PEOPLE SAY ? AND ARE THEY FORGED PISTONS? PLEASE ELABORATE WITH FACTUAL DATUM. AND WHAT DID THEY DO TO MAKE SFI WORK WITH THE B CAMSHAFT PROFILES AS TO NOT SCREW WITH HOW THE CAR READ SIGNALS AT ITS HARDWARE POINTS. OR DID 86 FOR GO B CAMS ? WHILE WE ARE AT IT, 1985 ENGINES WERE ALL FORGED PISTON ENGINES IN MUSTANGS? I DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANY OTHER APP THAN A MUSTANG OR CARPI. AND WERE THEY ALL FLAT TOP AND NOTCHLESS ? THAT ABOUT WRAPS IT UP.

    ALSO PLEASE REMEMBER MOTORS ARE ELECTRIC FIELD MOTIVATED. AND ENGINES ARE COMBUSTION FIRED.

    ALSO IF 85 ASC CARS AND 85 AND 86 PREDATORS CAME WITH B CAMS DID THESE AS WELL NOT HAVE NON NOTCHED FORGED PISTONS THAT SHOULD NOT RUN B CAMS AS WELL ? AND WHAT ABOUT SFI ON PREDATORS AS WELL ? HMMM

    no notched pistons in 86 they are flat tops

    valve interference has more to do with the timing of events as opposed to soley lift

    there is a B cam for 86 ( and 87,88 )... it's the B302 cam, not the B303 cam.

    the 86 heads have valves that are more recessed in the heads. So with the factory E6 heads - you can run those cams - just like the 87s and up....

    My car has E7 pistons in it. Not sure if the engine was ever swapped but when I bought it looked completely untouched.
