Default Anyone like regatta blue coupes?

I bought my car on February first of this year. It is an 86 LX notch that had not been treated well. It has a 3.8 and a C5. It had the worst paint job ever and I would have preferred it to be bare metal and rusty. I have since five lugged it with SN95 parts and now it is painted.
This is what I started with:

    This is now:

The molding is going back on and so are the original tail lights. One was broken and these are loaners from a friend. I am going tomorrow to get my bumpers to put back on. Now I just need to get a couple more tires for the rear and get to building a 302 for it.

I might just have to buy me one and sell all of my "projects" if I can find an '85 or '86 with a 5.0L and T-5, and unmodified, with low miles.

There were only about 300 3J/3V 5.0L coupes made. Shouldn't be too hard to find one with a T-5, unmodified, and low miles.

Car looks beautiful, congrats! I love LRB especially on a coupe. Keep the pics coming, can't wait to see it finished.
    Cheers!

Thanks everyone. The only mods to the body are going to be striped(SVO) tail lights. I still have to paint the side trim and repaint the door/quarter window areas before I put the rest of my trim on. I looked for a LRB coupe for 10 years before I found this one. I still have to decide of I am keeping the blue interior or going gray. Blue is in the lead right now. The car is far from perfect, but I am happy with it. We painted it over a 7 day period and it kicked my tail. I can't wait until that V6 is gone.

Sorry it's gotta be a coupe, and an original 5.0L at that, w/ a manual and in a low-production color (3V/3J, 4E, 4M, 8L, 8Y), and with most or all options.

I figured it was time for an update. I got the bumpers on and the tail lights striped. Since these pics were taken the mirrors are back on.

Looks absolutely awesome, congrats and great work. Have you decided on the interior color yet? My vote is for the blue. There are so many grey interiors out there, it's nice to have something unique. A blue on blue car will really set you apart from the herd, and its just an awesome interior color. Save the blue! Just my .02, keep up the good work (and keep the pics coming).
    Cheers!

I toyed with going gray, but I decided against it. The 86 gray is just too dark for me. I am going to keep the blue and slowly redo it. My door panels are in really good shape and I am going to try and clean my factory carpet. I will need to repaint a few pieces and new upholstery. Before the interior is started there will be a V8 under the hood.

Update time. Currently I have a 308 built to go in as soon as the weather gets warmer. I wanted something high performance, but I ended up going all stock. This is the engine

I am supposed to check on a T5 this week that needs second gear fixed. I figure I can go through it and replace all of the synchronizers and such. I still have a few parts to find. I have to find a driveshaft and a crank pulley. I have been piecing this car together slowly and it has been a lot of fun. I am going to run it speed density for a while, but I have already added the mass air harness and bought an A9L.
