Thread: NW 4 eyed BBQ

Sorry to hear that next year is your last. Someone has gotta pick it up and run with it. I've always wanted to go to one of these, but I feel like my car would not be welcome with all these 4-eyes. Mine's a 1984 Capri RS 5.0, but I went aeroMustang on it and converted. I kept the blunt nose and bubbleback in case I ever want to go back. I've done 98% of work by myself, including the stroker engine build. Mine is pretty modded, 327 stroker with Edelbrock RPM AirGap manifold, mildly ported 1970 351 Windsor heads, custom Mach 1 Ram Air intake, Ford Racing X303 roller cam (huge), full Maximum Motorsports suspension, Tokico D-Spec adjustable shocks, 1995 17x9 Cobra R Wheels, Cobra spec T-5 swap, Mustang LX tail lights, 5 lug M-2300K upgrade with complete F/R 13" Cobra brake system (13" Baer Eradispeed +1 rotors on rear, with manual proportioning valve). Dynoed at an honest 300HP at the rear wheels and a fun handful to drive. Done well at club autocross. I have a complete Saleen bodykit & whaletail spoiler that need to be installed too.
Sorry, I aero converted my Capri RS. I happen to like it that way. Kept all the original Capri stuff, so I can go back to stock if I sell it.

Ugh, between time and money I don't have enough of eiher one this year :-( I put the Pen to the paper on costs and it would be around $400 for me to make this trip, plu my car gee new front bearings and 12hrs a day, 7 days a week I just don't have the time get to them and we are very short handed at. Work and my boss is the only one who knows how to operate my machine and he has a entire plant to run so I don'twant to be that guy :-(
So I'm out :-( have fun guys and ill be there next year :-)

I'm really looking forward to popping up for this tomorrow, leaky brake booster be damned.

Worst case, there's an 86 in the boneyard in Arlington, and I imagine I could con someone to going to do some surgery with me.

    See ya'all tomorrow!

Heh, the one and only. How many other folks would go get a non-op TurboGT from Stockton just because it matched the paint codes on their GT?

I hate to report my Black Magic won't be able to make it this year. The starter relay on it is toast and I'm not getting any spark. I am really bummed.

Given the time you posted the question....I would say sleep a little.....arrive around 10am. There is a small resturant on the north side of the lot of our post office that has good breakfast, located at 16900 and Smokey Point Blvd. Exit 206, go east to the light, and then south just past the first light, behind the 76 station. Don't buy the gas at the 76...horrible stuff !!

I made good time getting home, the border line ups were way shorter getting home 10 minutes versus 1.5 hours to cross this morning. Can't wait to see the pictures posted. Thanks again Neil and your crew of helpers!!!!!!

Well as usual you pulled another great one off neil, Charlotte Chef Nelson and fairmont handler Nolan and all the volunteers who always put so much effort into making this day so enjoyable. I hope that next year there is a record number of cars and people there to make the closing year for Neil amazing. Many thanks to you all

Must add my .02 worth and agree that the day was great seeing so many different cars. I forget how many different styles and models the wife and I looked at. Capri's, bubbleback hatchbacks, coupe's, t-tops, Pace car, hatchbacks, SSP's, SVO's, convertbles, Cobra's and the list goes on. The weather was hot but not so to be scorching. Thanks to Neil and crew for a food line for all who showed. The road trip had all different types of scenery and "Dairy Air" fragarence. A good time. Can we start the countdown for next year yet!
