Hi Kal, yes you can, but if I get them back in the mail beforehand, then I have a firm count of those attending, have the $$$ to buy the food and outhouses, make sure all of your info is correct in my records for next year, and makes me happy wallowing around on the floor in all the paperwork.

Can anyone going to the BBQ hook me up with a part that you don't need or not using? I need the shield that sits between the 302 and T-5 and its hard to find down here and when you do find one having to sell a kidney is manditory.

Is it 2 piece? I thought the manuals were one and auto's were 2? I don't know, but yes, the plate that sits between the bellhousing and engine.

I have a 4x8 sheet near the cook shack with for sale / wanted notes posted on it each year, be sure and post it when you arrive.
Pre-arranged sales are fine, but I dont want to turn the BBQ into a swap meet with a bunch of parts laying around.

I here ya Neil, and it wasn't my intention. I figured it would be a good opportunity to reach out to other members who live very far away for a part that has eluded me for some time and that I wouldn't want to ship.

Yes it is..as far as me hosting it..August 24th, 2013. If somebody wants to take it on, I will give them a "turn-key event", with all the problems worked out. Then I can be a "guest" and be able to mingle with everybody.

Ah man Neil, sorry to hear about it. I've been looking forward to going since I got my first invite in 2007. I'm pretty confident I'll make it next year. My own car should be done by then and Jeremy should have all the kinks worked out of his by then too, even if I have to pull his ear and drag him. You know, if I had the space like you do (the field) I would consider taking it over and relocating the BBQ down here. What about Marty or what's his name taking over the event? From what I read they are pretty much involved with the process.

Marty lives on a main street that is a connector street, and has about 9,000 Sq.Ft of area, what's his name is Lee ( f4fntm ) and the same for him. I see this event being combined with some other event or something. I have been a land hoarder my entire life, cause God ain't making any more of it.

Thank you, I blanked out when trying to remember Lee's name. If I could hoard land I would, but it always seems to be going up and my income doesn't. What about combining the BBQ with that northwest foxbody enthusiast group? They have get together's during the summer from what I've read. It sounds like a good match as long as you don't mind aero noses attending. Another idea would be for someone like Lee or Marty take over but hold it at a state park or something. Since Marty and Lee are involved it seems like a good idea to pass the mantle to one of them sort of speak, or maybe Schoolboy?

the foxbody enthusiast group was disbanded...I think....and the gathering was held at Huntamyer park in chehalis. I went the first year, but could not make the next 2 years, and it was a nice place. there was something about having to pay to get into the park AND pay for a discover pass, but don't quote me on that. There is also a gathering in September called "Ponies in the Park" near Lacy that is a nice place, but it is a car show, so the "works in progress" that make the BBQ so friendly, don't show. The BBQ was always about NO Judging, just friendship, and I have a plethoria of names in my files that won't attend because of.."If I'am going to put fuel in the tank, there should be trophies to try for.".......ughh.
I just spent 5 hours cleaning 3 grills to get the food cooked, and tomorrow the cook shack gets built, again.
Schoolboy is my oldest kid, btw.

I'm not sure, I received an e-mail some time ago saying that the guy who was running was bailing for some unknown reason, then I heard it was back on again but by a different guy. I have no idea on the details and nobody is saying why. I would have issues too with having to pay for a discovery pass as well, especially a place that I would go to once a year. Yea, I knew Schoolboy was your son. He tried to help me find an engine once. If you don't mind me asking, and if you don't mind saying, why are you passing the torch on the BBQ's? You went from having a small handful of people to somewhere around 50 cars show up with more and more each year. You were also the inspiration for the east coast BBQ. You were the guy that chased down four eyes wherever you saw them just to invite them to come. It's all quite a feat if I say so myself, and it seems a shame to end it.

Thanks for the kudos... I really enjoy meeting new people and talking with them, and I really like the 4-eye cars, so you find a "people" in a "4-eye" car and you just got to give chase. One contact led to another and you have a field full of them. eight years ago, there were several BBQ's around the country, but most of them have gone by the wayside. I applaude the east coast fox-a-que for doing a 3 day event, and all the miles they travel to be there, and the work in the cars, wow. This is a "hobby" for most of us, and a hobby is supposed to be fun, it is for me.
My time frame for making the bbq happen is about 4 months, with the last week totally devoted to making final preperations...( it's 10:10pm and I just did the person count to buy food for ) and if I had a "job" it would not happen at all. I might have to find a real job just to have good medical coverage, which is a good thing as you get older. ( I will be 60 next year ).
All of us are in need of re-pop parts, and the only way to show the aftermarket parts persons that there is something other than 87 to 93 cars is to put them together, like saying " here we are". I have to let it go, I have 2 boys that want Dad to work with them on their cars, and I owe that to them, and with my Capri needing some fresh up, that will be 4 projects.
