Default Painting kicker panels and other parts

I need to sand down my kicker panels and repaint them along with a new center console armrest I could not find in the right color.

Do I use the dye on both of these? I was thinking the rockers need the paint and the console cover needs the dye?

check with the mustang parts houses like npd and latemodel restoration. i have used products from both of them with good results. i believe latemodel restoration list a product for hard plastics and a seperate one for soft vinyl stuff like arm rest. last stuff i used was from npd. they sell one product and say it is suitable for both surfaces. I redid 90% of the interior in my 81 with it and has seemed to work well so far.

How do I level this off?
High fill primer or glazing putty?

trying to get rid of the texture? I smoothed out a set of mirrors on my old 02 gt just by using some high fill primer and wet sanding. took a few applications but worked well.

Not trying to smooth them off, they are brittle and chipping. So now I have lowspots in them.

I have found a couple pieces of my interior plastics that i just had to replace them. They were really baked from age and sun. Kind of brittle and flaking. The more i tried to "repair" them the worse the just kept chipping a away. I have a rear interior quarter piece like that in the hatch are of my 80 that i am going to have to replace for that reason.
