Default Mirage mustang by Summit Ford??

I was driving home about 2 weeks ago and I was passed by the weirdest mustang i have ever seen. I am not sure of the year 85-86?? mustang with T-Tops that had at least a 3 inch fender flairs (front rear), A massive rear wing that was integrated into the rear quarters. It was also a horrible bass boat red color meaning full of metallic chips??? On the tail it said Mirage by Summit Ford as best as i could make out. I am not 100% sure that it did say Mirage but it was something like that!

I could not snap a shot of it since I was driving, and I could not get close enough to it at a stop light to get a picture either...

Any one know what it was???

    Thanks,
    Johnny

It sounds like the JBA Doninator but that car was a euro front end.

It looked like a JBA mustang but it had an 85-86 nose. The weirdest part of the car was definitely the Rear wing. It was HUGE and super flat that wrapped back in to the quarter panel or back hatch or something it was kind of like the 85 and up mustang hatches but super flat and long!

The widebody kit would have been the one sold by Ford Motorsport in the Mid 80's. When I get home I will scan a picture of it from my FMS catalog.

Here is some info about them. This is just the flares. I am not sure what Tail was on the car.

Wow Ive never seen those fiberglass parts before! That is much much closer than any other flairs that I could find. I would say you are right about those.

The Tail looked like it wrapped around the back like on the race car to the flat section of the top of the flairs

Oh and on the back side of the wing it said Mirage on the left (driver side) in multi colors like I think it started off in a orange ish red color then it stepped down in shades to a yellow. On the Right (passenger side) It said Summit Ford. in the same fashion as the mirage

I was driving home from work ( go from 435N to East on 24 hwy right through the bad part of town) when I saw it as soon as you get in to Engelwood area (I think that is what the area is called) It came up from behind and passed me as I was just leaving from a light. It sounded really tired and it clearly had wrong wheels on it as they sat really far in the wheel wells and not flush or anything. I did manage to snap a really bad photo but I have deleted it on my phone. I will see if it is still there tonight and try to post it tomorrow if its still there. I deleted it because it was so bad you couldnt really read it but I wish I hadnt now!!

Summit Ford was in Lees Summit. Right by where the current Bob Sight Ford is now.
