    FINALLY!!!! an update!!!
Got the new oilpan and re-worked dipstick on, filled the oil only to have the engine stand rotate and spill all the darn oil!, but got cleaned up and primed the motor's oil galleys, installled the cam sensor, supercharger gets installed tomorrow and then the fun starts!

Years ago had a customer with a N/A 4.3. Put down 255 to the wheels on a mustang dyno. A year later he came back with it s/ced and put down almost 400 to the wheels.

    I'm currently swapping an 83 v6 3.8
Is there any easy cheap mods that can be done to increase power?

A cheap and easy swap is modding the intake to a four barrel carb and using a 4.2 F-150 engine or rotating assy. balancer to flexplate. I have a whole motor or what ever parts you need.

The Essex 90 degree 3.8 and 4.2's are worth there weight in hp!

They had some issues, but they are very light and tough little engines which have a acre of space around them for turbos, superchargers, nice 4-bbl carbs, even twin Porche 911 T Part # 40IDTP3C, or PMO triple throat 40, 46 OR 50s under a hood scoop if your not an anti cowler.

Enough for 350 hp without a supercharger...

It's lighter than the alloy LS Chevy, the use of 335 style valve gear and 302c/351w con-rods in a uniquely pitched V6 dedicated block has paid off every year since the 82 Code 6 option hit the Fox.

To put an old I6 250 or 4.1 in a Fox, the whole engine is very tall, and needs hood work in some instances. The 3.8 is 155 pounds lighter than the 250!

Its about 155 lighter than the 79 to 82 alloy intake 4.2 or 5.0 V8. The 3.8/4.2 V6 is about 309 to 315 pounds, and is about 44 pounds lighter than the 79 2.8 Cologne, and 225 pounds lighter than the 2005 -2010 4.0 Cologne sohc. And its about 70 pounds lighter than the old 200.

There isn't a better Ford engine for pounds per cube!

We used to do 3.8 swaps into little European Cortinas, lighter than the Cologne V6, and more power with the right add ons.

    Another underrated, missunderstood Ford engine!

Did you have Long tubes made? I tried to use SN-95 Longs on my swap. They would not fit, the steering was moved about 1.5" to the driver side on the SN-95 cars, ended up using 1998 stock shorties and a MAC off road H-Pipe . I have been driving mine for 2 weeks now.Runs great , really makes people think when they hear the S/C!!

The headers I am using are BBK longtubes that I cant find anywhere new. Glad you got your car running! This thread, "blog", whatever you wanna call it is for all the sixer people who feel they do not need the "2 cylinder supremacy" that others seem to need, yet can run with most of the crowd. Keep upthe good work. I would like to have a get together of modded sixers show up at All Ford Carlisle, just to give their class people a headache!
