For certain! (Take the current 3.7 DOHC, for instance... stock for stock, it out-powers the ol' 4.6 V-8!)

    Keep it up!

Just wondering. What wiring did you need from SC and where did they connect in to what the mustang had?

Well the wireing has not started. I stripped the whole S/C of its harness so if there was anything I missed I could just get the needed curcuits.

As far as connecting to what the Mustang has, I will be tapping my harness for power and grounds and then adding what I need.

    Nice job!

Mine will differ in having a full size radiator, and a 3x larger I/C, and no A/C (who needs A/C in a ragtop??? {in the mid-Atlantic} )

BTW just as an update I am assembling the harness onto the engine and wondering does anybody have a diagram for a oil level sensor curuit???

Not at all familiar with a T-Bird SC, so I've got to ask; does it use a liquid-to-air intercooler like the V-8 Mustangs have gone to or does it use and air-to-air like the SVO?

I ask because you said you were going to move up to a larger intercooler. I may have a possible low cost option for you.

FWIW the big trick a few years back was to install an intercooler from a 7.3L Powerstroke F-250/350 on your Fox 2.3 turbo car and it was a big horsepower gain. The F-truck intercooler fits perfectly in front of the radiator with only some custom made radiator support brackets needed.

Best of all the Powerstroke intercooler only cost $35 new back when the swap became popular.

The S/C uses an "AIR -TO-AIR" intercooler the size of a cerealbox, my intercooler is 2.5 times it's size.

What year motor and style intake was on that carb setup? I want something similar but leaning towards a 4.2 carb with single or twin turbo setup.

Awesome build, post lots of pics.

My carb setup was a "one-off" custom intake from a carb (1983) and it was modded by robert green racing by cutting out preheat tubes under carb, making a flange to fit the "Holley-Motorcraft" type flange with a 1 inch spacer. I have more pics coming, but "smart" phone was being a "dumb" phone so no pics today. intake & heads will be for sale PM if interested

I wish I could get it. Just doing research right now. I figured it was a one off, I've never seen a six with a 4 bbl on top. Shoot me a price thought, in case I run into some money.

Heres an update for those wanting to run a Main gildle:

The car pan will not clear the girdle, so you will need to modify a truck pan. Here are the differences between the two parts:
    Car Pan:

    and the 1999 F150 pan:

The ramp is too steep to clear the car's K member, so it will be modified.
    To be continued...

Rick - I live in Hagerstown. I'll buy you dinner if you take me for a ride in this thing when it's back on the road. I am very interested in how this turns out and love the idea of doing something a little different.

Will do. Hell I'll help if I can and my schedule allows.

By the way, what kind of power do you think your engine will output?

UPDATE: the pan will not fit due to oil tube clearance , will see which is simpler modding the pan or modding the oil pick-up

OK update: stud girdle motors need to have the girdle fit to the pan and oil pickup tube. I have found my engine has to be spaced off the stock mounts 1/2 of an inch due to pan clearance with steering rack, and longer pickup tube made. If you decide to run BBK long tube headers you will need the long o2 extension harnesses
