    Default mysterious rotor seals

I'm working on repacking the front bearings on my '84 GT with a 302 and was needing some help finding some new seals for the, as far as i know, stock 10 inch rotors. I bought some new ones off ebay for $10 shipped using the part number autozone said fit my car but the outside of the seals ended up being just barely to big but the actual rubber seal part does fit the spindles. I looked up the part number again on the new seals on 2 different auto parts places and they say they're suppose to fit. And i also have a rotor from a '92 mark 7 and the new seals physically do fit those 11 inch rotors. The old seals from my car only have an A2 C/R and FoMoCo on them. So does anyone have any ideas on where i could get the right seals? Maybe get them for a 4 cylinder? I do have a wrecked v8 '86 gt that if i have to can steal the rotors off of but i'd rather just buy some seals. thanks for any help.

I thought the 86 and down fox bodies came with smaller brakes then the 87-93 cars? It sounds like you have seals for the 87 up cars. Are the brakes on your car the oe stuff?

As far as i know, but the autozone and O'reilly site both say that's the seals that fit. Do you happen to know the seal part number for the smaller brakes? or anyone.

My guess would be that you need a Timken #6815. That is the listing for the front inner seal for a 87 4 cyl Mustang and a 1979 Mustang.

Here are the specs for the #6815:Nitrile Seal, Flanged O.D., Shaft Size=1.94", Housing Bore=2.5, Outer Diameter=2.505, Width=0.25in Oil Seal
    Front Wheel; Inner

Here are the specs for the #9150S Timken or #19223 SKF:Width=.294"; Shaft=1.938"; Outside diameter=2.5820"; Bore=2.578IN
    Front

    Hope that helps.

On the Mustang only the '87-'93 factory 5.0L cars came with the 11"(10.9") front discs. The I4 cars retained the early cars 10"(10.09") front discs.

Or does it have a more common banjo fitting/bolt setup? 11"(10.9") diameter.

The listings for the parts on these two can easily become goofed, due to the actual dimensions may be misconstrued as a decimal point misplacement.[.09 vs .9]

Thanks for the info. I'll bring in the original seal in and see how they compare to the 6815 and report back how it goes.
The caliper hose does directly screw in the caliper with no bolt.

Sounds like the same thing that happen to me on my 86. I ended up using bearings A-12 & S-A13 because the inner bearing and seal were too big. I also used the 6815 seal.

    Good luck.

when I replaced the front and rear bearings on my anny car I had to take them in and match them up, they were different than what both azone and kragen had in their computer, I have found several other pieces and parts like this as well
