    Default 84 GT Tires Rubbing

I bought an 84 gt and had some cobra wheels with 245 45 17 tires on them. I am rubbing on the fender extensions. Can I move the mount forward where it screws into the fender liner which it is rubbing on also?

I figured you guys might have experienced this.

or do I need to get a smaller diameter tire?

    Thanks

This is what I ended up doing to my 86' with 255/45's on 17's.

Not in the pics, but I welded the lip back onto the lower fender.
No spacers were needed but I added a rack limiters to each side to keep the tire from rubbing on the K-member.

Seems like alot of work, but knocked it out over a weekend.

I am not hitting that far out just where the screw is that the fender extension screws into I am thinking I might just get away with bending it away a little and be ok. But wanted to see if anyone else has done this. I don't think I want to go through all that. I will change tires first and save them for rear tires later.
