Question Front to Back Hard Brake Line Routing?

Was looking at my car the other day. while under it I looked at the hard brake line that goes to the rear. Anyway, I know I routed the lines the same way as factory. But, why did they route that line first outward near the pinch welds by the rocker panel on the rear of the front wheel well opening on driver's side. And then bend back to the sub frame for a small length. Last, they bent it back out towards the exterior pinch welds again. Wouldn't it be better/easier to just run it straight back along the pinch welds? You can see here on someone else's car where it comes back off the sub frame area and shots out by the pinch welds ( rocker panel area):

It hugs the frame rail so as to avoid damage. If it stayed out towards the rocker pinch weld it would be vulnerable to damage from road debris kicked up by the tire and corrosion from direct splashing of water from the tire.
