    Default Widest Tire Up Front?

This coming winter I will hopefully have all of the parts I need for the SN95 5 lug swap and a big brake kit on my 83 hatchback. Does anyone know what the widest tire you can fit up front with this setup is? I was looking at a 18x9 front and 18x10 rear. Will these fit without too much work and what size tires should I put on them?
Here is a link if it helps anyone

Ohh and let me know how you think they will look on a black car with red accents.

    Thanks,
    Ben

Well I had 17x9's and coil overs on the front of my old 87 GT and the wheel had about 1/4" from the adjuster sleeve and a 255/40 rubbed- had to go down to a 235/40 for them to clear the coil over springs.. I may have had a 1/8"- 1/4" spacer also I can't remember right now..

Well I'm sure I can find a way to make them fit with some persuasion. Thanks for the help though, let me know if you remember your setup.

Well if you aren't coil overs you should be able to fit a 255/40 is what I was saying

Ahh I gotcha. Should the 10" rear be fine?

I have 18x9 w/255/35/18 on the front of both my Capri and Svo. and 18x10 in the rear of the capri w/295/35/18. fits fine. I had to roll the lip but that was it. Svo has 275/35/18 and fits fine with just the lip rolled as well. lowering springs but not coilovers. On my Svo with coil overs i think 245/45/17 or 245/40/18 was the biggest I could get to work.

OP, what year spindles are you going to use when you do your SN95 brake swap. This will also have a factor on tire/rim size.... That info would be helpful to those who can help you with an answer....

To the OP, I highly recommend using the 94/95 front spindles only if using an OEM K member. If you run an aftermarket K member than you can use the 96-04 spindles. I know other say they don't have any issues, but I don't want to get into that same discussion again. The 94/95 spindles are easy enough to come by and work quite well and have a narrower track than the 96-04 spindles too.

I have put the 94/95 spindles on several Foxes and run 17 X 9's with 255/40/17 tires and generally have little to no issues. Ride height and alignment will determine alot of your possible rubbing issues. Normally you will want a 24mm offset with the above setup in the front.

    Good Luck!
