I will be swapping an 86 EFI harness into my 86 4cyl Coupe, and it just hit me, Am I going to have to pull the dash? I know on the 87-93 cars it is not nessesary, but what about a 1986?

I believe the '86 EFI harness will plug into the '86 dash harness so no need to pull the dash. You will need to run the fuel pump wiring from the connection located in the driver's side kick panel.
OK, thank you. And I do have the tail-light/fuel-pump harness too.

^ Correct info. But the 87-93 don't require you to pull the dash, only swap the ECU harness also.

It should be plug and play. I've done the swap in a V6 '85 Mustang to an '86 5.0 EFI setup and it was the easiest part of the swap. Shouldn't have to pull the dash.
I would run an upgraded and relayed connection for the fuel pump using at least 10 gauge wiring. Make sure you wire in the rear impact fuel shutoff switch. The stock fuel pump wiring is barely adequate for the stock pump, and will choke any upgraded pump. It's easy and inexpensive to do.

Maybe I should have asked this question before I pulled my dash. LOL
But experience is half the battle I guess.
