    Default Fairmont wagon project 302/T-56

Finally getting ready to start the wagon project. I am sure it is going to be a long process but we will see. I love how clean these arizona cars car out here.

I am taking apart a beat up fox vert I have. Going to be an injected 302 with a vortech, T-56, tubular k-member, coilovers front/rear, 04 cobra 5 lug front/rear with polished 99 cobra style wheels or my chrome 17" Pony R wheels. Plans for now are to leave the interior/exterior completely stock. It should be pretty nice if it ever gets completed!!

Here is the car that will be parted out. There isn't a straight panel on it and the top is cut. And I will be keeping everything else I don't use that is worth a crap for my 92 vert for spare parts

When I was younger, I would have never thought anyone would want to hotrod a wagon. Now though I'm anxious to see how this turns out. Funny how time and trends change.

When I was 16, one of the quickest street cars around was a ratty blue satellite wagon. It had a big 440 in it, and a 4:56 gear in the back. it was fast. Good weight transfer, loved wagon ever since that car

I remember going to Bremerton Raceway outside of Seattle in the 80s. My HS auto shop went there for the High School drags and they had a large number of regular doorslammer cars that raced in alternating heats with us kids...

My favorite one was a '69 or '70 Mercury Colony Park Wagon with full on wood paneling. Guy had a set of cheater slicks on it and would consistently run high 11s with it, driving down the quarter with the windows up, A/C on. Never saw what was under the hood but it sure was fun to watch.

Are there any clearance issues putting a T-56 in a Fairmont? Will the Fox Mustang crossmembers for this swap work?

Ken's Yellow Futura has a T-56, so it's possible. I forgot how he did it which is unfortunate since I have a T-56 for my '78 Futura project. I'd like to know what kind of cross member and modifications needs to be done to stuff one in on a 'Mont.

Oh that car? I saw it back in 1997 or so (it was still white), it had a stock 5.0 in it. Not sure if he ever went to a BBF.

I saw an article on the web from '09 that said they had an aluminum head 514 waiting to be installed to replace the 5.0 that had replaced the original I6, so I'm thinking I may be right and you are right as well. A "hobby" car is just never finished!! :-)

If I had my old small garage, this junk would have been sold a long time ago.

    Great looking project!

I wish you were closer, I'd take the I6 k-member off your hands.
