Shift kit standard on a Pace Car?

HI,

do anybody know if the Pace Cars had a shift kit installed to the C4 at the factory or was it just plain std lazy C4 in there? Mine shifts like it had a shift kit in there...maybe somebody tampered with the car more than I thought =;?)

They had a standard C4 valve body from the factory.

A fresh stock C4 is one of the crisper shifting auto transmissions of that era.

With a little work they are by far my favorite auto transmission.

Maybe I have driven too many early Mustangs with lazy C4s then...

For sure a simple shift kit will improve a C4 and make it even better!
