    Default Few pics of the LTD SSP car...

    Just a few pics of the LTD PP car my father and I have been messing with.
    Plans are just for a fun toy.
    Just for the mean time it's been swapped to a 600 Holley/stock 66' cast iron 4bbl intake and a dura spark ignition. Just parts we had laying around.
    Using a Holley bypass regulator to get the fuel pressure down enough to use the carb. Modified the TV linkage for the AOD to work with the carb.
    Still need to clean up and loom the wiring..so please excuse the mess.
    CFI system had issues and not a lot performance potential anyways so that's why it was pulled.
    Still has the stock manifolds,cat and even the original muffler for the moment.
    Have an 8.8" rear ready to install soon as we get the time between other projects.

    Future plans may include a SEFI swap with a budget windsor (read: junkyard build.. 351 roller bottom end,gt40 explorer heads,etc) and a 5spd swap.

    Well fast forward this almost 4 years and quite a bit has changed. Specs now...

    383ci Windsor,72' block,forged crank,rods,pistons,internal balanced,low compression (about 8.8:1)
    TFS hi-port heads cleaned up a bit
    Herbert small solid roller cam
    Edelbrock super victor intake
    Quickfuel 750 blowthrough carb
    Snow Methanol kit
    1 3/4" MAC long tubes,3" Prochamber mid pipe,3" MAC flowpath mufflers
    C4,4400 stall,reverse manual vb
    8.8 Detriot Locker with 3.27 gears and 31 spline Moser axles.
    Aeromotive A1000 pump/filters/return style reg,-10 feed and return lines,sumped stock tank
    Tube K member,A arms,coil overs up front.
    Tubular lower rear arms and adjustable uppers

    Only ran it once on 12.5 psi and leaving easy and it went 10.51 @ 131 mph

    That was with a 650 blowthrough carb and a smaller intercooler. Going back with about 16-17 psi,the 750 carb and a touch more gear with a 3.55. Should get into the 9's pretty easy.

    Love it. Funny, but I've seen to LTD lately. Not cop cars but still cool to see some still on the road.

    just bought a SSP, new to Fords. Would that setup run on the road course without overheating? The CFI on this car doesn't seem to offer much to increase power. My track car is an '01 Z06 so I am learning lots about Fomoco. Thanks. Bob in Olympia, WA

    Building my SSP. what steering wheel is that? What shifter is that? what gauge is that on the steering column? How did you wire in the tach? What size rear wheels?
