Got a little more done today. Still got a few things to do like clean and paint the alternator and put fluids in it. Oh and plumb the intercooler piping. Starting to get over the anxity to what i have left to do and going over what i did to be sure i'm not forgetting anything and am getting excited it's getting close to being done.

Thanks E. J. it's been an adventure. I have been around cars and had a hand in pulling a building stuff off and on for most of my life but this is the first time i decided to take on something like this by myself.

    Mike:

So far it looks like you are doing a really nice job. Good project - I too have been working on cars since I was 12 - Go Kart Racer, Drag Racer, NASCAR Modifies ( 3 months in the mid 1970's - Just for grins, experience and a few "lumps" ) when I came back from the service- Then on to SCCA and then IMSA. Enjoyed every minute. - Well ..MOST EVERY minute - Losing every once in a while was a "Humbling" but also a learning experience every time.

Now I am into my SVO and 1988 TC - So essentially I am having to learn a whole new Ford in the Electronic age - way of working on my cars - Never a dull moment . But it is great because I am sharing it with my son - And that is very cool -

Keep at it - You are going to have a pretty terrific Fast Fox when you put her on the Highway !!!!!!

Can't wait to see the finished project

Check out my thread"thunder down under" . It has photos of my engine and if you look closely at the shot from the front you'll see my intercooler, which sits much lower behind my front spoiler and has a natural air intake.

Let me know what it dineos at.

I would love to have the bolder front lower fascia but i'm trying to keep it as unassuming as possible. Your car looks good. Hopefully i will make some more progress this weekend.

Well it's so close just one more piece of piping. Still gotta hook up the vacume line from bpv and run the lines for the jimmy2.3mustang boost controller. Also gotta swap the ecu and the shifter out.

Got a question tho. Is there a wrong way to put the bpv in? I think i need to turn it around but not sure why i feel that way. lol.

Thanks E. J. glad to hear your car is running like it should and good luck on the turbocoupe. I picked up a older used short shifter off ebay while i was collecting parts and not sure what brand it is. The hurst shifter that was in it has seen it's better days.

Beeker thanks for the heads up on the bpv. I was a lil worried. lol. As for the pip[ing i bought a cheap ebay set of pipes and went to stinger for the couplers that are 90's. Figuered with no moving parts how bad could they be off ebay. I acctually ended up with way more then i needed. I still have a few extra pieces.

Don't you think that running the intake over the top of the motor from the hot turbo side is inefficient?
We dropped ours down the turbo side, through the intercooler and back up on the other side of the motor.
Looks far less cluttered and easier to work on.Turbos more accessible.

I need to see pictures of that. I just can't "picture" in my mind how you could wrap it back into the Throttle body if you are going down the driver's side without a bunch of bends, which is as bad if not worse for the air than heat.

Unless that IC is heat soaked Homer, that air is going fast enough through there not to worry...Now if your turbo upgraded/at higher boost levels-then maybe a front mount larger unit in order.....

I thought about going to a rotated and i still may at some point. But to do it you have to relocate the alternator.

On another note i did get it running today! Had a horrible miss. Replaced the old wires and plugs to find i still had a miss. After looking at the parts store wires i picked up because i was to inpatiant to wait for good ones to be shipped and who would have figuered number 3 wire was broken new out of the box. After fixxing that no more miss and it ran smooth. Took it for a quick ride up the road. Seems smooth and runs good. Was only making about 5lbs of boost becuase i have the manual boost controller set low as i didn't want to find a problem with alot of boost. A couple more shakedown runs and i will move the boost to a more appropriate level and see what it will do.

Looks good. Yeah with 120 degree turn it clears the alternator. If funds were avialable i would have went that route but that take all the fun out of further nodding it. lol.

Tell me what pics you want and I will see what I can do,as far as cost went,we fabricated the intake with 2 pieces of 10mm aluminum and a 90 bend.
Then made up the intercooler tubing to suit.
    Easy really.
