    I'm sorry but that trend is like the:
    pants below your belt trend;
    painting your good wheel’s black trend;
    installing big scoop on Dailey driver /truck trend:
    install rear wing on four door sedan trend;
    the mullet hair trend.
    just because some else does it, don’t mean every one should do it.

    I was testing some spray paint out, some years back, on a car I was getting ready to junk, and was astounded at how good the Duplicolor Gloss Black came out; the area looked like it had been done at a bodyshop! If you decide to upgrade to gloss, this stuff is the best

    I did my notch in semi gloss a year ago,loved it as it was just the right 'sheen'. now it has faded on top to a flat color with no sheen, but below the trim line it is still a little shiny.I think I will try the duplicolor and re-do the top side....the wife prefers the glossy, though, so it might actually get a 'real' paint job. I like the look myself..nice!!

    Well, with that kind of logic, I would have never jumped off of the roof of the house.

    When I see a flat-black car, it reminds me of my childhood back in the late '70s, when I'd see 'beater' Cudas or Novas cruising around, as their teenage drivers 'fixed them up'. Just the other day, I see a BRAND NEW Camaro with this paint job! Couldn't believe it...

    Looks good.
    ..I would paint the GT inserts on the belt moldings in light gray, for a subtle touch.. and break off some of the black. Also.. turn the white walls in.
    But that's just "my" opinion.

    BTW. a picture with the top up may change the look completely.

    Looks good. I like the matte black. The RWLs help break up the black. I'd do as suggested and paint the GT logos in the beltline so break it up a little more. Subtle goes a long way.

    Couple questions....

    1) Did you also paint the under side of the hood and door jambs?
    2) What size tire did you end up using? Same size on all 4? I saw you mentioned 235x60x15s in another post. I have 235x60x15 on the front of my '86 and they rub at full steering lock. I know, don't turn it all the way...lol Could be my saggy LX 4cyl spring up front too.

    Looking at this picture reminds me....I need to get some black door handles for my '86

    I dig the RWLs but I've never liked the flat finish much. I'd rather see something in primer and see the potential, think about how it may turn out. Something about a work in progress is cool. I don't understand the point in doing that to a car on purpose and leaving it that way though.

    However, I've seen some older street rods in flat paint with killer striping work which look cool.
