Default Have you ever seen a higher 79 VIN?

There is a 79 Ghia V8 Coupe on Ebay with what seems like a high VIN =9f04f300686

The "3" is blowing my mind. I know Ford Started with a"1"

    Thanks!

I do not have a date for that one. I will see if I can get in touch with the owner and get more info on it. All I have is the VIN. There is one in the DB that is about 25,000 before it and it has a date of 08/79.

It would have to be really close to a late run in 79. It is wild to me how Ford does that. Maybe it was a late order delay in parts?

It makes sense to just go to the newer model year. If I was a dealer in 8-79 I would be trying to move the 79's out to prepare for the 80's, yet one is being built in 8-79. It could be it was a special order car and not just dealer stock.

What is the latest run you have seen for a car. Like you said 8-79.

08/79 is the latest that I have seen for 1979 models, and the earliest that I have seen for 1980 models. But that is not the last '79 or the first '80.
