Which airdam should this car have ?
It had the early saleen fiberglass air dam, you can see it in the picture I posted of the car when it was a couple of years old. A few of these air dams have been floating around recently.

In my opinion there are two reasons this car is still available. They are unrelated and one might not be in the back of the mind of any future buyers, but it most likely might be in the minds of current Predator owners who might be interested in adding this car.
First, the rust. Now I feel Chris is a stand-up guy and had done a very good job depicting this car in it's current condition. I wouldn't hesitate in the slightest buying a car from Chris that I was interested in. That being said the rust terrifies me. Rust has brought both of my Predator projects to a complete standstill partly due to the amount of rust further inspection has uncovered and partly because the people I entrusted to fix said rust were either completely incompetent and lied about their abilities and the other completely quit on me so there is frustration in that. But my biggest fear wouldn't be the rust that is seen but the rust that isn't. I would prefer a gutted car over a complete car full of rust. But that's just me.
The other issue is something I think about as a Predator owner and I know others think about as well because I have discussed it with them. Our access to RELIABLE information about these cars is practically zero and at least pertaining to my cars the information has been inaccurate on a few things when compared to information received from former owners which makes a true correct restoration much more difficult. Does anyone know Tom Solomon's true feelings about the cars he built? Does he know there's a group of enthusiasts that want to preserve his cars and their place in Mustang history? I understand things may have ended badly with Ford but he's not dealing with Ford anymore he's dealing with those who love what he's done and want to make sure it's not forgotten. This second concern isn't something a prospective buyer would necessarily think about but could be a frustrating potential setback in moving his project forward ahead of buying one and you never know when that new owner gets frustrated to the point where we lose another Predator. There needs to be a support system for those who own these cars and it just isn't there. I'm not here to point fingers but I want to be part of the solution to keep these cars from being left behind.
Sorry if I thread-jacked a little Chris. But I know if I didn't think these cars weren't important I'd have gotten rid of both of mine instead of fighting through the grief these cars have caused at times. I know you want to see these cars preserved as much as the rest of us Predator guys do and hopefully you'll find someone soon to restore this beauty to her former glory!

I've discovered that this car is likely the first predator convertible ever built and thus am not going to offer the car for sale. Thanks for all interest, this thread can be closed!
