Default Possible sell on 86 GT

I might have to end up selling my 86 GT.

It was originally a canyon red car but it was painted orange.

It has 4.11 gearing in it but I have a stock 2.73 8.8 that is going to be in it.

It will have new carpet, dash pad, and fresh painted interior panels.

New tailpipes, BBK headers, underdrive pulleys, 5 speed manual w/ Hurst shifter

87-93 Hatch, Kenwood Speakers, LX taillights, Pioneer Radio, 15X,XXX miles I think, it was thrown off due to the 4.11 gear.

Surface rust underneath (Ohio car) but structurally sound.

Any ideas as to what I could get for it?

Around here... $3K-ish, give or take. If it runs and drives decent, clean title of course.

trust me, the market for our cars is DOWN. you will get $3k all day, but might get $4000-4500 from the right buyer if your lucky.

    few questions

    - is the passenger seat missing?
    - where are the foglights?
    - severity of the rust on the underside?
    - condition of torque boxes, frame rails, floor pans, toe board, A pillar, c pillar metal?
    - quality of the repaint? quick respray/scuff and spray? taken down to metal? brand of paint used? prep done? is it all documented what was done?

as of now, the dash and drivers seat is all thats in the interior. But I am putting new carpet, dash pad, speaker grilles, seat belts and painting the interior panels.

I have 3 '79 Pace Car Foglights but they are too big for the '86 openings.

Not sure as to the severity of the rust, When we put the new tailpipes on ill let you know

It's not the best paint, and if i keep it it's sure to be repainted, theres 2 spots where it bubbled up and cracked a bit. It was done before I bought it.

I don't know what you paid for the 86, but what were you expecting to sell for? How long have you had it?

To say $3K 'all day long' is not necessarily true, look at the classifieds here. Unless the car is below $2K, or is a very nice shape original, it gets minimal attention. But, most of us already have a fox or 2.

It all depends on how long you want it sitting in your driveway before you sell. Could be a week, could be a year.

Pace Car fog lights are the same as the '85GT-'86GT's. They'll fit. They are 'Marchals' which came on all '79- '86 Fox Mustangs equipped with fog lights.
