I have been watching Mecum and Barrett-Jackson auctions for years now.
Why do the cars at Mecum sell for a quarter of what they would bring at Barrett-Jackson.
Most of the cars have a reserve, so the owner will not sell below what he is asking, so that factor is not an issue.
I have always felt that the cars sell for way more than their value at Barrett-Jackson.

The best car sale so far was a 1971 Maverick Grabber for $26.5. Not price wise, just one that I particularly liked.
