I`d have to say that 1 3/4" headers are awfully large for a 302, and a Performer intake is pretty weak for the heads and cam you have. I think a Performer RPM , or better yet, an Air Gap version would be a much better choice. 1 5/8" headers are plenty big, even 1 1/2" is pretty good for a mild 302. Do your 1 3/4" headers require adapter plates to fit?

The 1 3/4 headers bolt right up without adapted plates, just have to use 90° boots on the sparkplugs. This engine is being put together using all spare parts that were just laying around so performance isn't really a big deal, its more of a fun factor

Do you guys think it would benefit from a victor Jr???

Stay away from the Victor Jr intake, it will really kill your bottom end with that X cam. Do you have any flow specs on the heads? Got any pics of the combustion chambers?
I would aim for 10-10.3:1 compression, run that cam 2* advanced, a Weiand Stealth intake, try to step down to 1 5/8" headers if at all possible, and a good 650 vacuum secondary carb. Might not be the best combination but should still put out 280-310 hp at the crank, and make some decent torque as well.
