Thanks I am going to work on those tomorrow
    -----------------
    Another update(pics tomorrow)-
    Vaccumed carpet
Wiped down the vinyl interior pieces
Removed aftermarket rear quarter speakers(still in nice condition, and 90s vintage too )
    Reinstalled rear quarters
Tried to get the car running better, ended up making it not run at all The plug wires were all switched up (from what it showed in the shop manuel), but the car ran, rought though. I put the in the correct spots (I labeled where they were before I moved things) and the car would just turn over and "jump". I have a couple vid that will be posted tomorrow also. One of my dads friends will help me get the plug wire issue figured out next weekend possibly.

And, my car lived the ultimate life of a convertible. It got to cruise the roads of Hawaii when it was new . With all the options, and the sticker I found under the dash, I believe it was a Budget rental car. The sticker had some inventory #s and read BRAC HAWAII (Budget Rent A Car from what one of my friends said ). With the evidence I have it is very likely it lived in Hawaii and was a rental car.

Neat thing is, my dads 68 442 convertible he has (he has had it since high school) was a rental car in Texas when it was new, and now I might have an ex-rental car that I get to drive thought high school

I wasnt able to do anything today, as it was cold and rainy
But here are the pics of the work I did yesterday
    Before...

The metal backing is bent towards the top

The original on the left, the one out of my 84 on the right. I am going to use the one on the right for the time being.

The awesome 90s vintage speakers I will save these for when I get a hatch with a red interior someday

I didnt know that verts had rear speakers

And the sticker that leads me to believe it was a rental car in Hawaii. Probably around the Honalulu area

Thats too funny that you found "thump" brand speakers. One of my neighbors tried to sell me a pair of 12" "thumps" that looked exactly like that.

    Moar Updates!

My dad sold the 56 Dodge that was parked next to my car, so my car got a new buddy

I was able to manually pull the window up. Need to get the motors out of my 90 LX convertible soon.

Started cleaning the door jams. Might work on sanding and painting here soon.

Much better than when I first got the car!

    The guides need help. lol

    Need new belts...

Got the new radio in and functioning. The speakers in the doors are Sony Xplodes. THey sound pretty good Neat that the radio has blue lights too.

Had to connect the memory wire to the cig lighter. I wanted to be safe so I wrapped it in electrical tape.

And I put in the missing fuse so the courtesy lights would work

Still need to buy plug clips for the radio wires, so If I want another radio down the road I can just unplug the current one and plug a new one in.
Gonna work on getting the car running again/running better tomorrow.

Well, got the car running again today, but then it wouldn't start again after we got it running. Pulled all the plugs, they were all coated in soot and unburned fuel. The car runs too rich. Also got all the plug wires in the correct spot on the distributor cap (did it the hard/manual way). Even changed the MAF(?) or what ever it is behind the coolant overflow tank and the car still didn't run (but it tried to).
The car has fuel, good compression, spark, oil, everything needed to run, yet it doesn't. Same thing that happened to my SSP, but that issue was the plug wires. One of my friend who has had Mustangs and Thunderbirds told me that the issue is most likely the module on the front of the distributor. I will buy one and replace mine and hopefully that will solve the problem. If not, at least I have a new one

    Ran the codes (a 23 and a 31 IIRC).

The whatchamacallits. I got the one off of my parts car 85 v6 (left). Also note codes B1A(right) and B2A(left). They came off the same year car?

I love putting the top down

    Finally washed the car today
The wheels were blinding! They just need a going over with steel wool then they will be perfect

And it was the MAP sensor I replaced. It wasn't the problem. Going to get the Ignition Control Module off my parts car tomorrow along with a bunch of vac lines I'm missing.

Good stuff. At this rate it looks like you'll be out cruising this summer.

With all those foxes you have lying around in that yard, you must have a set of 10 holes or pony's to throw on it though!

My goal is to have it done for summer

Unfortunately, we only have one set of ponies and a few sets of ten holes that are on cars that need them.

    Some more updates

Got some nicer interior door handles, chrome door handle trim, and some interior plastics off of a 81 Fairmont in a local wrecking yard. Replaced the door handles and glove box hinge today.
Fairmont on top, orginal on bottom

Cleaned and reinstalled the drivers arm rest.

    Hinge comparison

And another pic of the stereo

Spent all last Saturday cleaning the interior and putting it back together
I still have to dye the console and paint my black console trim (redo the info center paint, it came out too shiny). The passenger door armrest will go back on too.
Got the missing vac lines and EGR valve and some other small stuff off my 85 v6 parts car (I shall restore her to show quality in the future! (I really like my verts, no matter how trashed))
Replaced my front seats with the "mystery" sport seats (SVO pattern, standard sport seat, no knee bolster, no release latch, release with the seat recline lever and just push back into position ). The original seats were very rusted.
Found the door/trunk key under the drivers seat.
    Needs more oil desperately
Replaced the low beam headlights and pass. side marker lens
    Replaced pass. int. door handle
    Got some original rear speakers
Going to put the lowered springs off my 85 coupe on the car once I get new springs for that car (will putting 5.0 coupe springs on affect the handling???)
Working on the replacement instrument cluster out of my parts car

And when I went to see if the vac lines(especially the one to the MAF) solved the running issues, the battery was dead That's what I get for listening to my 80's tunes all day LOL
