I'm getting ready to replace my ignition module, which seems to work OK, but is leaking epoxy onto the frame rail and causing a mess. I'm also going to splice in a new 4-pin connector onto the engine harness, since the wires at the connector are missing insulation. (I'd love to just get the complete reproduction 84 engine wiring harness from FoxResto, but can't justify the $360 price.)
How is the ignition modules supposed to mount to the inner fender? Mine has a flat blade screw on one side (assume this is not factory) and a "c"-shaped metal clip on the other side. The clip attaches to the inner fender with a special plastic friction pin with an oval-shaped head that holds the metal clip. Unfortunately I broke the ribbed side of the plastic pin, so it no longer grabs into the fender.
Does the factory module mounting look like mine in the photo? Where can I get the special friction pin (assuming that was the factory method of mounting)? Does the module in the pic look like the factory module? Thanks.
