    Question Broken Tach on 91 Camaro RS

    as the title sais...the tach is pretty broken i turn the car on and it pretty much pegs it moves but its obvious its off would anyone know a fix or am i gonna have to swap out my gauge cluster for a junkyard one and hope that works....i checked wiring and it all looks good...i dont get it

    Is it the correct tach for the engine? Does the tach move at all when you drive, or does it just sit at one particular RPM while the engine is on?

    yup it is...i bought the car from the original owner


    it moves the lowest it will go is 2500 rpm...if i go it will peg it defanetly works...just not right haha

    110 mph speedo? camaros cant go that fast........lol jk
    Check the wires and signal output, you should be able to find some info regarding that somewhere on the net i would think, check the wires that go into the cluster i just noticed on my 82 GT that some tabs that hold the wires into the connector have broken and i think thats why i lost tach signal on my car.
