Default Marti Report for 85 ASC McLaren Convertible

Received my Marti report today for my 85 McLaren. Since it is a 1MH car with a 7095 in the DSO, they knew at the factory that it was destened to be a McLaren Convertible. Pretty cool that 'ascMcLaren Convertible' is listed as a feature.

Cool report, it is a shame it doesn't show the ASC stats as well. The way the report reads it makes it look like there was a bunch of them made

Thanks for posting that Marty. Glad to see more Capri owners ordering these reports.

Do you have door tag(s), buck tag(s), build sheet, and owner card/warranty tag for this car?

On the "1MH" meant the cars were 'incomplete' and needed to be finished to be certified. The cars that were built specifically for ASC came with that code. Things like roof trim, rear seat belts, interior panels were left of of the car when it was built. The "1ME" cars that went to ASC were pulled from the line and were complete cars when they arrived at ASC. They needed additional work during the conversion process to remove the parts that the 1MH cars didn't have.

Fun Fact: The circuit for heated backglass was repurposed for the top pull down motor. 30A is more than enough to support the motor

Funny thing is how everywhere it shows Capri Hatchback, when the ASC was converted from a mustang couple body...

It's my understanding that they used the coupe mustang to make the Capris as well. It seems like it would be fairly hard to convert a hatch to a trunk. I could be wrong...

That is not correct. Capris were used 1984-86. Mustangs were used 1987-90.

No such thing as a Capri coup. See the assembly line picture.
