    Joe:

    Terrific shots -

    Progress is incredible -

Not so much "The Rotter" anymore

    Maybe a 2013 Fox-A-Que Debut ?

Just superb effort in every way.

I can relate on the Hard life of a Sander. Growing Up may day always had BIG Wooden Boats 35-40 Feet - We did all the paint ourselves . Sent more than a few Belt Sanders to Sander Heaven

^^^ Thanks guys. Here is the latest update:
Used the stud welder on some dents on the hood:

Then hit the minor surface rust with Eastwood's rust converter:

Then I pulled the front end assembly from under my deck and removed the head lights and separated the lower valance from the upper bumper. Here is the lower:

Going to need A LOT of repair work:

    1982 Mustang GT T-Top 302 / 4spd

Had to replace 5 of the 6 studs in the header panel where it bolts back to the fenders. Used JB Weld and made sure that the nuts spun freely to aid in re-assembly when I bolted the header back to the fenders.

Was nice to finally get the nose back on the car

Had to fix the mounting hardware that is used to fasten the lower valance to the bumper support. The original studs broke off, so I removed what was left from the old studs and welded in new 1/4-20 carriage bolts:

Here is the set of 4 completed:
    1979 Indy Pace Car Mustang 302 / 5spd
    1982 Mustang GT T-Top 302 / 4spd
    1986 SVO Mustang - 1C

Wow that looks exactly like my 84. Body guy pulled the dents out of the hood same way (same spot too!) and epoxied the spoiler in the corners.

Love what you are doing here!

Got most of the front nose sanded, first coat of plastic on the hood:

And finally, the hatch kicked my butt, took a lot of work to get it smooth/flat....

    great work!!

Im eager to see how you repair the spoiler. I picked up a good '84 nose for free that has a corner tear, right on the bumper bulge.

I'll post pics of the repair, but I'm still working on rot... Removed the windshield yesterday:

And I got it out without cracking it

    Reason for removal:

The reason why I continue to call this car "the rotter"

    Where I'm currently at:

Took a break today from the car. Temps were up a bit, was nice to wash the daily drivers. I'll do some more cutting this week and start to weld in some patch panels.

Probably not - my Futura rusted in the same place and it's not a T-top. What both cars have in common is that they live in New England.

Damn! Joe, I gotta hand it to ya. Nobody else I know would have tried to save this one. Restoration would have cost 50k at a good shop to fix this car up. Kudos

Very interested in this repair; my GT has had this repair no less than four times since 1990!! I used to believe it only affected T-top models, however I think it has more to do with body flex. a couple of hairline stress-cracks, some winter driving, salt water seeping in, and its a never-ending problem. I bet if Ford had installed SFC's from the factory, this would've never been an issue.

That, to me, looks like the lead lifted and water got behind it.
Either way, great job with this!

Its looking real good Joe I hope that's the last of the rote you have to deal with . It looks like it was a good idea to take the windshield out to do the repair right

It's more time than money at this point. I have a good bit if $$ in parts but that's due to the fact that I bought a roller instead of a complete car.
