Looks great! I gotta get back to my notch. Bought a house and it's still an hour away. Haven't touched it in months

Long time no update on The Rotter. So I finally pulled it out of storage and back into the main garage. I have a to-do list of about a dozen items that I need to take care of. One of these are the front control arms, they needed to be cleaned up and painted:

Nothing fancy, just a coat of black rustoleum:

    1982 Mustang GT T-Top 302 / 4spd

Next update, I bought replacement under hood decals:

    Match is really good:

    Even added this one:

Last of the recent updates, the starter was having issued engaging. I pulled it out and cleaned up the shaft, but it actually got worse.

So I went with a rebuilt unit from Napa:

Starter engages correctly every time now.
I really didn't want to chance messing up the ring gear.
So I'm good to go. That's all for now.
I did a bunch of other smaller stuff that wasn't picture worthy.

That's something, I was thinking of this very thing (decals) mere minutes before opening this link!
Its an inexpensive yet wise way to upgrade the looks and 'feel' of a factory restoration.

Thanks for the updates and what a difference those small details make, especially when you compare to the before pics!

I know we are both from the same area... did you ever go to the Mark's Auto Parts Cruise nights in East Granby, CT? Unfortunately, 2021 is the last year they are doing them... I was car number 1,285 when I went to the last event. Need to find another great weekly/bi-weekly cruise night to take the place of this event!

I ended up making the last car show at Marks. I was car #82 (drove the SVO). I rounded the block at 4:30 and got in early. Sat in my chair by the bleachers and just watched cars roll in for hours....
Marks Monday show will be a tough cruise to replace in the coming years. There are a bunch of smaller shows popping up, but none have the capacity.
    Here's to a better 2022!

A few last updates on The Rotter.

I finally put a coat of wax on the car, first time since painting it:

Next up was the hood emblem:

I actually bought this emblem about a decade ago....

After this, I moved the GT back into the storage garage for the winter.
It's pretty good for spring 2022.
I'm going to order a new new tires over the winter.
I plan to get them installed on the black mesh rims.

There's a bunch of smaller items to take care of, but it's 99% done at this point.

Oh, and I did a YouTube video on the resto.
It basically mirrors most of this thread.
    Here is part 1: https://youtu.be/yWagUJCpMX4

    Part 2 is coming soon.....

Sooooooo much metal work, but it turned out great. This is such an amazing build thread and I must admit, if I wasn't a full-on Capri guy, an '82 T-top would be my second choice to own... and yours is magnificent.

I loved watching your Capri rebuild. And the funny thing is that I'd love to find an 81 Capri as a next project....

Watched the two parts on YouTube. Excellent job!

Was curious where you sourced the foam support for the rear bumper cover. Mine has a wavy cover that needs attention.

The car looks great. I like the videos on the build. Where did you get the Center caps from?

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the videos.
I went through my folder of receipts. The "bumper droop eliminator" was purchased on eBay back in 2016.
The seller back then was "videoherellc"

Thanks. Center caps were also found on eBay, but I don't have a printed receipt to reference.

I remember reading this thread 5-6 years ago and thinking how amazing the work you were doing. I don't have your talents but reading this thread kept me believing my rotter was saveable. Looking forward to more pictures of it this summer and hopefully mine too

This is one of several threads I keep re-reading. I do it when I start lacking motivation, and it usually spurs me to go and do at least something, however small.
