Crestview area is nice. Destin is expensive and touristy. Area between Hurlburt and Eglin is pretty crowded. But a good time to buy a house as the market is good for it. There is an 1/8 mile dragstrip not far from you in Holt. Depending on what you need done to the car I may be able to steer you in the right direction. Let me know.

Oil pan gasket. Not an easy job since the motor needs to come out. You going to DIY it at the auto hobby shop, or are you going to pay a shop to do it?

Wheel shimmy should be easy. Swap some wheels around and see if the shimmy moves. Could be inner tie rods or a few other items. Pretty easy to diagnose. Shoot me a line when you get into town and would like to meet. My schedule is a bit here and gone so I'll need some heads up in advance.

Even raised up all the way, it's a pain in the butt to do it in the car. The pan will not come out of the vehicle, unless you have a tubular k-member. It's very difficult to get the gasket out around the pickup, working by feel. Also, trying to scrape everything clean, and make it look nice to put back together will make you scream in frustration.

I'll be relocating to the Ft. Meyers area between this summer and next summer. Not exactly sure when, the wife can't decide if she wants to buy a house now, or wait until closer to next summer. If we buy one now, I'll be going out there, and she will move back in with her parents until next summer. She needs quite a bit of advanced notice, so she can interview and transfer.

There has never been a better time to buy a house in FL. Unless the economy takes another turn for the worse, I say buy now.

Maybe next weekend. I just got back this week from a TDY so spending time at home with family over the holiday.

I see your car on Craigslist. You'd get more love if you posted it in the Okaloosa or Pensacola listings.

Do you have another mustang? I just moved to crestview from Colorado and would like to find someone to turn wrenches with. I will pull my motor in the next couple of weeks to replace the timing chain and regasket it. Maybe a mild cam. South west corner of 85 and 10 is a nice area to get a house. No dirt roads. Good luck finding a place either way.

There is a monthly meet at the "Burger King " in Pensacola around the Harbor Freight. I've been twice but is too far to drive for just a meet.

You don't need to pull the engine to do the timing cover and cam.
