    Default Belts and pullies

Can regular V belts have a flat (serpentine) tensioner applied to the back of the belt or will that cause premature failure?

they weren't intended to be used that way so i wouldn't recommend it.

you have to apply a lot of tension on those belts if they're new until the stretch in.

Yeah I figured as much. Just trying to mickey mouse this a/c system together because the shop has way too much invested in man hours trying to get it to work. They should have just bought the factory mounting brackets and saved on the labor rate.
