Having been around in 70 with my own Chevy muscle car and running in a club that included a GTX, two Road Runners (one a 440 tri-power), a Hemi 'Cuda and a 340 'Cuda, among the typical Ford and Chevy offerings, the GTXs and Road Runners were not the same car. They did share the same chassis and body but different trim levels. Typically, Road Runners were post coupes, stripped down, bare essential rides, whereas the GTX was a "hard-top" optioned-out ride. However, in 70 Road Runners could be had with the hard-top option and lots of other luxury stuff, but I never saw a GTX/Road Runner. This car is either a Road Runner or a GTX, but I'm positive it's not both.

But what about the link, it says it is one in the same.. its all about the link.. now I am starting trouble. You need to back what you say with facts other than memory. Prove what you remember with a fact. I got money on this one and I need to know.

Well, according to Steve Strope (guy that owns the car), it started life as a 1970 Plymouth Satellite. It's a Roadrunner clone built Pro Touring style. So uhm ... I think you're both wrong

Its actually a Chevelle chassis, with a Boss 429 under the hood. And the rear is from a Datsun pick up truck.....

Ok, I am done being a smart ass! I will agree it is a Mopar! lol

Right... untill '73-'74. Still Satellites, Sebrings, etc. Roadrunners had small blocks, if you wanted a BB, you ordered a Roadrunner/GTX.
    I still miss my MOPARs

Yea, me too. Too bad they are all too damn expensive to buy/fix. Otherwise, I'd own one now.

Actually, the bank turned me down (1996) on a loan for a 1970 Challenger with a 440 in it, pistol grip 4-speed, painted Hemi Orange. Guy wanted $4k for the car. Well worth it. They approved me on a loan for $4k for an 87 LX 5.0 Mustang, though. That was my first Mustang and Fox Body, and it's been downhill since then!!
