Default Wheel Shops in our Area?

I dropped off the new axle shafts at the machine shop yesterday to get the lugs pressed into them, but thought it would be nice to get a set of 10 hole wheels from the attic polished up while it is apart to replace the Turbines on there now. Is there a reputable wheel restoration service in our area?

I suppose any decent body shop would do the job for you. But why dont you try to tackle the job yourself? I dont have a fancy smancy buffing wheel - just one of those inexpensive Eastwood buffing kits that mount on the end of a corded drill and good old fashioned elbow grease and look what I was able to do:

I did a set of 4 and that was about ten years ago (those pics are scans of snapshots). I will tell you the hardest part is removing the factory clear coat. You need a few cans of that 'aircraft stripper' business, scotchbright type pads, and lots of elbow grease.

    Good luck

Funny you should mention the clear coat. It is now more of a hazy amber.

I checked with the local tire shop and they gave me the name and number for the Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists Representative for Western Mass. Now I just have to wait for him to contact me back to see what he has to say.
