Default mod my 1979 front bumper cover?

as you know my front bumper cover not in the best of shape and I’m looking for a 1979 pace car/ 80-81 cobra/82 GT bumper cover to replace it. I figure I would mod this one until I can find the replacement.I already have 4 good 1979 to 82 front bumper cover hanging around. I never like the cheese crate look, so on this damage one. I got my little saw out and did some change’s. it only took 5 minutes to cut and sand. after shutting the hood, I think it looks better but I’m thinking of finding some aftermarket front lower spoiler on it, so see how that helps?

I wish they would have made the grill like an 82 GT upper section from the get go.

I'm in the same boot as you because my 79 bumpercover swells up and sags under its own weigth as soon as it gets wet or moist.
Therefore, why bother; you will need to replace it anyway or do you have the swelling issue cured in some way?

This is the kind of mod that I like...a mod that imitates what the factory should'a could'a would'a done. After you get it painted, there will be a lot of people who won't even notice it.

no swelling, just major crack's. where the bumper coming apart. the paint even flaking off on the passenger corner. that why I'm just using it until I decide what bumper cover going to be the replacement.
next is to find a after market lower spoiler and see how that look also.

79 pace cars and 80-81 cobras are just too sexy. 82 gts are really nice too but I really like the rear facing hood scoop.

That is the problem with the '79 bumper covers. Here is an extreme example.

drugs are good when there the right kind. nothing better to a car junky, than to need a fix but getting some car parts or complete car.

Default Anyone bought an aftermarket 79 front bumper cover?

My front cover looks like the pic in the previous post once wet.
    I noticed there's a replacement 79-82 cover out there;
Does someone have experience with that? Link:

    http://www.autobodypartsonline.com/c...p_prodid=13796

Couldn't find a 1980-82 cover (doesn't have the swell issue) locally without having to buy a car attached to it.

    Thanks,
    Hans.

I like it. Cool mod. I still love the stock 79 look the best.....but I am adding an airdam to my NOS cover if I like this Xenon airdam enough.

Here is my beautiful NOS cover on mine...during one of the (seems like ten) mock ups on this car. lol

And with headlight covers its even more sexy!! (this was before restomod began)
