That thing sounds awesome! Unlike any 5.0 mustang I've heard. Actually, I'd bet there isn't even a 302 in that thing.

It doesn't sound like a 302 at all. It sounds more like a ricer motor. That was badass though, no matter what was in it. It looked like the exhaust was about to fall, dang near touching the ground.

They are calling it a 6.1L .... Sure looks like a 302 based powerplant to me. Built by Redline in Germany.

A 6.1 would be a stroked and poked 351W most likely. So yeah..."302 based" lol

You guys need to see past your 4.030" bores and realize that it's most likely a 370+ cube 302 based stroker. He's most likely running an aftermarket block and big pistons. You can bore a Dart block to 4.165" with a 3.4" stroke and that would get you a 6.1L motor.......

I don't limit myself to a .030 over on a 302, but I don't see boring and stroking a 302 to 370+ cubic inches, while also having it banging off the rev limiter, working together to make sure the engine leads a long and healthy life.

It's a race car. Who cares? I'm sure it's got a girdle or something, it'll hold together.

My x-pipe never sounded like that. I'm thinking it's more the glass-pack style straight through mufflers that are on it. Look at the pic that shows the mufflers installed in the spare tire well.

So if the mufflers are in the spare tire well what is hanging down below the car about to scrape the ground?

You are probably correct, a bad combination in my opinion. I still prefer the deeper tone of an h-pipe.
