I have a ferret, most entertaining pets I have ever owned. Dogs and cats are too noisy and make too much mess around the house. To each their own

We have two cats and two dogs. You can't say one is better than the other, they're just different. Dogs are suck-ups, cats are more aloof. Both make great pets.

With multiple pets there is always a pecking order. In our house the top of the order is Tigger the cat, maybe because he has seniority. Even the dog that outweighs him by over 100 lbs gives him respect. Everybody gets along well though.

The video of the dog dragging his wounded friend from danger was enough to get me a little choked up. It illustrates a dog's strong point, loyalty. They are willing to lay down their life for you.

My cat is like a dog in many ways. When he hears me come in the house after work, he meets me at the door every time and wants held... he's even getting to know the sound of my car and is already there at the door waiting. If I go outside to do yard work or shovel snow, he sits in the window near where I'm working and watches me... if I walk around to another side of the house, he runs to another window so he doesn't lose sight of me. He knows alot of words too... if I ask, "Where's your toy?" he runs and finds it and brings it to me. If I say, "I'm going to bed" he races up the stairs past me and plops in bed before I get there. If we are playing and I say, "All finished" he knows we are done playing and jumps up in his cat stand and lays down. I have to say he's pretty cool for a cat.

I'm more of a dog person, but my Dad has an orange tabby that comes when you call him, plays fetch, and prefers to stand at the door and "asks" to go outside rather than use the litter box. Pretty cool, but majority of coolness is due to the rarity. Most cats lose coolness after kitten stage.

Dogs rule, cats drool, everybody knows that. List top 10 things about a cat, then do the same about a dog. You will see the police cat, rescue cat, seeing eye cat,,, do we really need to do this...Cats are an ornamental pet, thats it, its pretty much a fact. Now you can have an opinion and prefer a cat.. fact is dogs rule!

That second one goes to show just how smart dogs really are. How many cats do you see leading the blind and helping injured veterans recover? I love cats but dogs are way smarter in my opinion.

    The Cat's Diary

    Day 983 of My Captivity

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now ...

I wonder what my parrot says, he looks like he is in a jail cell and gets fed through a little metal door. No privacy either and has to shower in his water bowl, all for human amusement. WTF is wrong with humans, he should be flying free! (I have a slight tear)

Ok, the second clip was pretty awesome. As for the first clip, our cats run to the door excitedly to see us when we come home every day. And cats have a concept of time passage, unlike dogs.

In the end, I'd rather have another rottie over the two worthless dogs and several entertaining cats we have now.
