At least it includes the SVO motor. Tis a shame. The guy probably blew the SVO motor and found it cheaper to just drop a $500 junk yard 5L in it.
Yeah. I'm just jealous. Wish I had an SVO... Or at least a chance to see one in person...

I had 1986 SVO do the very same thing. the 2.3 head gasket WENT BY,BY and made mess of the lower end. it was my daily driver, so i sold at lost because if i wouldn't have. it would have got a EFI 5.0 HO under hood.

I think that's an awesome combination, I always thought that ford should have put the awesome 5.0L in that car anyway. What an awesome combination that would have been. I would love to see what that car drives like with all of the low end torque of the big V8 and all of the engineered handling of the SVO package. I bet it would be an awesome ride.

MERCURYS is what I'm bout. MERCURY CrAzY
My most favorite color of all, and they dropped an 8 in it.....
There is nothing quite like a torquey V8, but an SVO all wrapped up as designed is a different kind of fun.
I remember the first time I drove an SVO, I even stalled it out at a light. I pull away from the light and think "whats so special about this??"..... "then all of a sudden the boost kicks in and its a whole new experience.
Certainly not the typical grunt of an 8 so it does take getting used to. I always say you have to sort of drives it backwards mentally.
I have had several SVO's over the years and a whole bunch of 5.0l cars including a single turbo 86 Saleen.
For some reason SVO's are still my favorite. I can't seem to put my finger on why. For some reason they just gell with me.
My first encounter with one was in 87 when one of my fathers buds came over with a Jalepeno red 86. We took it to the gas station to grab a few cokes and I thought it was the coolest car ever.
He still has it sitting next to his 70 428 Falcon.

Anybody on here happen to know how much lighter the 2.3 turbo is than the 5.0?
I hope to own a 2.3 turbo Fox someday(maybe an SVO), especially now that the price of gas is going through the ceiling again!

I never seem to get the nut that holds the steering wheel fixed
Ron, heres the thing... a 4 cylinder turbo engine will weight probably 1/2 to 2/3 the V8 counterpart, however its still pushing the same weight for the most part.
From what I've read mileage tends to be comparable to a V8, perhaps a little better. Anyone dreaming of mashing the pedal of an SVO and still getting 30+ MPG may be disappointed I think.

Under boost the 2.3t is slightly better than a lightly modded 5.0.
Drive it like a regular car and see mid to upper 20s and low 30s on the highway.
This has been my experience with 3 different SVO's. All three have been mildly modified so I can not speak for those that have huge turbos and injectors.

I worked at a Ford dealer when they were new and I remember driving them and thinking "this car would be awsome if it had the 5.0L".
I love the way they look, the interior, body, wheels, ect but cant stand that 2.3.
I always wanted to build one with a turbocharged 5.0l in it.
A bunch of 85gt's
I wonder if the original motor is dead or savable. Do the Folvo swap and get 740rwhp at 35lbs reliably, and drive it daily. That would be one seriously angry little car.
