Default New "entry level" Paxton blow thru supercharger kit for SBF - $2500

I just learned that Paxton has a new SBF blow thru supercharger kit for $2500

    http://www.paxtonauto.com/product.php?id=272

That's a great price for a "budget" street charger that can support up to 700 HP!

They also make them for the 86, I believe you also need a MAF conversion.

Wow this is some list of parts "still" needed. what about an intercooler to keep the intake away from the motor heat

    Required Components (Not Supplied)
Major components that are not included, but are necessary for proper system function and are to be supplied by the installer:
•Quickfuel, Demon or Holley 4150-type 4 barrel carburetor with mechanical secondaries; designed for “blow-though” applications (may require rejetting/minor modification)
•Recommended carburetor for most applications: Quickfuel p/n Q-750-BAN
    •High-performance, boost referenced fuel pump
•Compressor bypass valve (see below for options available from Paxton)
•Accessory belts (will vary per application depending on accessory configuration and supercharger pulley diameters)

    Other Suggested Components
•A compressor bypass valve is suggested for all applications exceeding 5 psig boost. Below is a selection of components available from Paxton (contact Paxton technical department to determine the proper valve selection for the specific application)
    •Paxton # 8D204-001 Race bypass valve
    •Paxton # 8D004-052 Race bypass weld-on flange (aluminum)
    •Paxton # 8D103-001 Mondo bypass valve
    •Paxton # 8D003-052 Mondo bypass weld-on flange (aluminum)
    •Paxton # 8D205-003 BV57 bypass valve
    •Paxton # 8D005-051 BV57 bypass weld-on flange (aluminum)
•Aftermarket ignition amplifier (not required, but recommended)
•MSD 6A ignition amplifier box or equivalent

why?, not being cocky i just want to know why you wouldn't want as cool of air as possible.
    cool air equals hp right?

The fuel droplets from the carb cool the intake charge in a low boost application, you wouldn't see substantial benefit by adding the intercooler unless you plan on hitting 10psi or more........The problem lies within the owner because boost can be just addictive as crack...

The appealing thing is you have a low boost system that has a charger large enough to
grow with over time, if that is how you want to take it. Not everyone needs or wants to
have a big boost monster with a high dollar motor to handle it. This system is great for
supercharging a mild street machine with 50-75% more HP.

If you don't want to spend $500 on a new blower carb, you could learn how to modify a
Holley or Performer/AFB to handle 5-7 pounds of boost using the same tricks they used
back in the 60s on supercharged Shelby and Studebakers.

Any high end mechanical fuel pump that supports 500+ HP should be fine.

I'm pretty excited about this new entry level supercharger kit.

Me too... I am curious about something though. On a carb setup you are always worried about your booster signal being too weak. Especially on a single plane manifold such as a Vic Jr. So now if you are boosting does that mean you can run a large single plane and not be punished as much on the small engines.

I can't answer that from actual experience.

Curiously, they use an RPM Air Gap on the display motor.
