The rarity of the 18 Series Vin was in the 1984 1/2 GT 350 cars, According to the database it does not appear to be anywhere near as rare as originally reported.

Being a 5-speed it likely had 3.08:1 from the factory but a few had 3.27:1. If you post the door tag and buck tag in the Production Numbers and Decoding forum (< link) I can decode everything for you.

It is not a 18 series vin But do you have my Vin in the data base. Last 6 of the Vin number is 170884. Hatch back Solid roof car, 5.0L, 5-Speed, P/W, P/L, That is pretty much it. No A/C Or rear defrost, No cruise control, No tilt wheel Has the 3.27 Rear axle ratio.

A Marti Report will tell you what dealership originally sold the car.

It was not in the DB but it is now. One of the few with T-5 and 3.27:1.

Yes, AX code "Z" means 3.08:1 gear ratio and Traction-Lok (limited slip) differential.

The name(s) on the dash plaque is/are who and sent off to have it made and the number is the consecutive order of that request. The number on the plaque is not tied in with the serial number (last six of the VIN) of the car.
