Yes. I have seen the horse shoe one for sale. The other one was individually engraved for each owner so I don't know if they sell blanks.

The repro Horseshoe was a run of only 50pc I believe.
I actually ended up with one as mine was missing on my car.

The name plaques are not reproduced but do show up from time to time blank.

PPI does have 1 engraved and 1 blank it seems

Well, I did call, and the engraved plaque was 299, the unengraved, 399 and the horeshoes are 299. WWWWWAAAYYYYY out of my budget. I do have a fellow locally who does lost wax castings, and maybe there is a market for repro's.

Is there a correct loaction for placing these emblems on the dash or was it done to suit the owners taste ???????

    Thanks, Derald.

My opinion is PPI is way way overprice on 99% of what they have.

Horseshoe can be had for $125 or less
    Name plaque for $100-150

Where can you buy original ones for that price Jeff?

In my years of dealing with PPI, I've always found the rare original and NOS parts I needed. They've been around since the beginning of the Fox hobby, unlike a lot of other people and companies that have popped up in the last few years. I've been dealing with them since the mid 80's.

    Hey Bill,

I am not bashing PPI by no means, I have never bought anything from them so I can't comment on their service or parts supply. I just am saying from seeing whats available for sale from time to time, they are always on the "high" side of the price scale. If nobody else has it and they do, well by all means you do what ya got to do..lol

But as for myself, I am a bargain shopper and will wait until I find it for the price I want to pay. I would never pay that much money for the either of those 2 parts. You can sometime find a whole car attached to them for that combo price. (as I did)

Again...PPI might be a great company, I am not saying they are not.
I just am very frugal with my money..lol.. that's all Bill. (ok I am cheap )

There is this eBay seller that has them listed from time to time.

Thanks Jeff! Sorry if I came across a little harsh, that wasn't my intention! I was just curious as to where you found them. I'm a bargain hunter too, and would like to have one for my collection.

Not harsh at all, if I had been doing business with a company for years I would question someones thoughts too.

    Guys,

Back in the early 90's Pug Ford Toys made a batch of name plaques. I have a couple of originals and his repro and they are pretty much identical. He used a guy that makes bronze grave markers. Quick, cheap and easy. And very detailed. Only problem is you need an original to make the mold from.

    Bob Lyons

PS: Jim at PPI is THE BEST GUY IN THE HOBBY, bar none! Yes, his listed prices may seem high, but he gives repeat customers and certain club members discounts on many items. Plus, he takes a risk buying up the rare and obscure parts. Many may never sell. So, what does covers the risk of doing business. I think of Jim much like Uncle Henry of ASC/McLaren fame. If not for him, owners of these cars would be a lot worse off.

I have Pug's e-mail address if you would like to PM me. I am not sure if he is actively using it since his loss of Terrie ( CougarKid ) on eBay.

If I don't have an original anniversary dash plaque, is there still some way to determine what production number I have?

I do not believe the one you referenced as real in your post is real. Please see this post regarding how to tell the difference as outlined by Scott Moen aka Wismach1.
